On July 26, 1986, the body of 15-year-old Belinda Snowden was discovered in a rural area off Highway 59 near Wacissa in Jefferson County,. She was last seen alive between 1 and 2 a.m. that day in Wakulla County. Witnesses reported seeing her near what at the time was a Jr. Food Store at the intersection of Woodville Highway and Highway 267. She was wearing a pink shirt and jeans when she disappeared. Ms. Snowden was from Jackson County but had been staying in Wakulla County with relatives who lived near the store. Although the case is more than two decades old, it's still under active investigation.
