Deputies Looking For Missing Daytona Area Man

Deputies are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing Daytona Beach man who was last seen Sunday.

Bobby Scott, 63, was last seen leaving his residence in the Daytona Beach area around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. It’s believed he was going to the DeLand area to meet someone. His cell phone and vehicle have since been recovered, but no one has seen or heard from Mr. Scott.

It’s possible Mr. Scott traveled to the Orlando area. His photograph is attached. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Det. Walsh at [email protected], or 386-254-1537, ext. 11842.

Man arrested, charged with murder after 63-year-old Volusia man went missing

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Harris Jr., 20, was taken into custody Saturday for the murder of 63-year-old Bobby Scott.

According to investigators, Scott met Harris via a dating app and the two agreed to meet up Sunday.

“After Scott and Harris met up, Scott was never heard from again,” deputies added.

Harris is facing a charge of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

“Detectives are actively pursuing all leads in reference to Scott’s missing body,” deputies said.

VCSO said they still haven’t found the 63-year-old Scott’s body. What they did find on Tuesday, they say, was Scott’s vehicle with Harris in DeLand. Investigators say Harris claimed Scott loaned him the vehicle (VCSO didn’t specify whether it was a car, truck or SUV), but he hadn’t seen Scott since then.


Scott’s husband, who had reported Scott missing after he didn’t come home by Monday, told detectives that Scott didn’t loan his wheels to anyone. Detectives say they found evidence in the vehicle to link Harris to Scott’s murder.

Florida deputies say that a missing man was murdered after meeting up with someone he met on a dating app.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said that 63-year-old Bobby Scott went missing from Daytona Beach last Sunday and was reported so by his husband after he didn't come home for an entire day. His vehicle was found two days later in DeLand. His body was found in an area off the 2900 block of Old New York Avenue in DeLand, according to investigators.
