I talked to a couple of officers about this and they would prefer a well lite area also. And they are aware the practice of driving to civilization is acceptable.

It's so dangerous anymore a person is afraid to pull over.......Afraid not to pull over & you never know who may come up to your car window.

Not to scare anyone, but there was a murderous real Highway Patrol officer several years back in San Diego area-Craig Peyer- he was misusing his badge, pulling over young women in desolate, dark areas in his legitimate CHP car, and then killing them. When they convicted him with the scratches on his face, his pathetic excuse was that he fell against a chain link fence at a gas station, yeah right!

This case is why reb, legitimate officers will allow you to keep driving to a well-lit area before pulling over.

Did anyone watch Nancy Grace tonight? One of the men she had on was talking about how this could possibly be some sort of drug hit. Then, just as he was about to say something about someone or something on the victim's front lawn, Nancy butted in. Does anyone have any idea what he was about to say?

Normally I like Nancy but she irritated the heck out of me last night. The lawyers who were saying that in order to find the killers police will need to investigate the victim's lifestyle were right on. It appears that the victims knew the killer, how does Nancy expect LE to solve the case without finding out who the victims knew? Nancy's screeching about blaming the victims was way out of line, IMO.

Jose Luis Escobedo apparently had only a part-time job in Brownsville, had no job waiting in FL, and his house payments were $1650.00 per month. Yessica wanted him to move to get away from bad influences. Sure seems like something is amiss with his lifestyle.

When will people learn the price is too high to pay to get involved with drugs and dealers?

Good question. Was his paymet in Fla 1650.00 a month? I assume he was renting because banks would require proof of income to loan the money to buy, and actually many places you rent want proof of income so how'd he get past that????????

It's just such easy money. That is the big draw. And if you happen to have a habit, that's another draw.

A man like the one in this case might think - I can do better for my family this way and they deserve the best. Like many of us who might do something risky - people don't think of the potential negative (or they minimize it) - only the potential posiive.

It is sometimes easy to become myopic and tell yourself that selling dope is a victimless crime (ie - addicts are only harming themselves, they are going to get it somewhere, I'll only move a little...). Of course, many of us know that the negative effects of illegal drug trafficking have terrible effects on society. But I can see how it wouldn't be that hard to convince yourself that it's okay.

True, very true, but still you usually have to have proof of income or proof it's sitting in the bank. I wouldn't rent a house with that kind of payment just on someone's word that they'll pay. It's hard to evict renters, takes time and during that time you're losing money. No way a bank will lend without proof of income or assets.

You could look in the Palm Beach County records to see who owns the home. I've got to go to bed but would be interested knowing.

Actually in many desolate areas in FL the land is owned by Fish and Game and hunting is permitted.
Its really not totally unlikely that someone would hear a shot in these areas and not call the police.
Furthermore they probably did not think it was shots until they saw the Police the next day.
It could have been a number of things.

In my area we have quite a few teenagers that set off illegal fireworks at night. I honestly don't think I could tell the difference between fireworks and gunshots, especially if I was half asleep :waitasec:
