I just finished reading the posts. I hope no one minds if I do some 'what-iffing'. Probably nothing to it but these are just a few thought that crossed my mind at first glance.
What if you were a gang of pot growers and/or sellers passing stuff on up the pipeline. . .and some of you got busted.
Now then . . what if one of those busted got let off due to 'lack of evidence'? Do you really believe that? Do the bigger fish you are doing business with believe that? orrrrrr
'What if' someone begins to believe that a certain someone talked in order to get let off for 'lack of evidence'.
Moreover . . 'what if' that person actually HAD talked in order to get let off.
That would add a very disturbing angle to the case if that talky person suddenly disappeared leaving behind not much doubt she had been murdered. It would make L.E. wonder 'what if' perhaps someone more than guessed she had talked . . perhaps had an ear into L.E.'s operations.
Now why was she fired from her job after being released? 'What if' you could not have even a little suspicion you were a dirty department? Or 'what if' you could not afford to have L.E. continue to look for what they might have missed when they got some of your crew? 'What if' you could not have an informer hanging around to let them know what else might be going on.
Could be lots more here than first meets the eye. So why is the FBI involved in a crime that has not crossed state lines? Do they usually get involved in the death of a volunteer? I don't know as this is not my area of knowledge so I ask.
