Thanks for the link!

A UPS driver reported making a delivery at 11795 SW Highway 484 around 1 p.m. During his stop, he observed four Hispanic men working on a roofing job at the property, along with a white van present at the scene.

According to him, the men were on a lunch break at the time and responded to his greeting with aggressive remarks in Spanish while giving him hostile looks. He stated he did not think much of the interaction until learning about the ongoing investigation.
I wonder if the UPS driver speaks spanish, or how/why he thinks they were aggressive?

I assume most people in customer service/delivery jobs especially in Florida speak some level of Spanish. I live in an area with not a huge Spanish speaking population and I have to use it from time to time to communicate. The difference between "Hola" and "Vete a la mierda" are pretty distinct and said very differently in tone. Spanish isn't a language were it accidentally sounds aggressive (looking at my german speaking grandparents where even have a good day sounds mean).

Following.
A lot to catch up on.
If Caden is with them willingly, it might mean he is alive.
Do not know if 'alive and well', though.
This is sad for his worried family !
Hope for better news soon !
Imo.

So four guys with a job in the neighborhood later in the day abducted a teen? Well, doesn't seem likely to me, but if that's the case, it should be easy enough to track them down or figure out where they drove at that time. Do roofers stop working by 4pm?

It looks like he pulled the vehicle off to the side of the road. I’m assuming LE hadn’t moved it at the time of the video of it. Was he pulled over, doing something and unaware when he was ambushed? Did he get in a fender bender with the van, pull over to exchange info and something happened? If someone was following you aggressively, or if you were shot at while driving, I can’t imagine you would stop your vehicle, let alone pull it over to the side of the road in what appears to be a deliberate place, not stopped haphazardly.

Also from the article in post #74

Family members and friends have shared some details about the missing teenager with TV20 and on social media.

His family owned Simple Life Farms, a U-pick blueberry farm in the Dunnellon area. We’re working to confirm whether the truck Caden was driving was connected to the farm.

Caden was also apparently involved in the rodeo circuit. SouthEast Little Britches Rodeo Association, a youth rodeo association for kids ages 5 - 18, posted a prayer for Caden and his family.

Interesting that the article says this:

Deputies say Caden had been driving his work truck when the shooting occurred, and he was wounded.

Since it’s not a direction quotation from law enforcement, did they actually say he was wounded, or is the media taking liberties because a shot was fired?

I wonder why they say "if you see him, DO NOT approach".

That jumped out at me.
Are they worried about an ambush situation? Put him somewhere and someone tries to help and they become victims. If this is exactly as it's been reported and this young man was shot at, abducted, and is in a white van, I would imagine those guys are looking to get a different vehicle because why keep the white van everyone is looking for? Maybe LE is worried about a car jacking?

““Once deputies arrived, they located a bullet hole in the vehicle, which was our indication that this was a vehicle involved in the shooting that was reported,” said Zach Moore, a sheriff’s office spokesperson.”
Thanks! That's the first mention of a bullet hole I'd seen. Forensics should be able to tell a fair amount from that. (trajectory, moving or non moving vehicle, height of shooter if standing, caliber, etc).

This looks like a good spot to pull over and text or check directions on your phone. I wonder if he was concerned for some reason.. (any reason) and pulled over to text, but then the van stops and he has no time to do anything? Since this is a location that does look like a pull over spot or even a turnaround spot. If you take the wrong road and pull in there to circle around to go back the other way that could be a place where a van could block you and now you are stuck.

Yes and maybe he was not physically shot, but they shot at him and in that text it just came out as I'm shot vs shot at or it just scared him so he said I'm shot. If he was in fact shot and was in the truck when it happened, then surely there is blood somewhere either in the truck or on the ground outside the truck as they took him. it would drip at least a little somewhere I would think.

Hopefully there is a break in this case soon.

Could be tone, expression, body language, etc. Generally you can interpret a person’s demeanor even if you don’t understand the language.

I'm sure it's not likely, but if he had been stunned or wounded, could he have walked into one of the wooded areas and passed out (or worse)? Were tracking dogs brought in? Do they have an actual eyewitness that said he was put/forced into the van?

(I ask because there was a case from months ago where a woman, I think in Augusta, GA, was disoriented from a crash and walked into a wooded area. By the time LE arrived, they couldn't find her. Months later she was back at home. It was really weird. Imo.)

Oh, boy! Here we go! One of the early comments to the SO indicated that this might be the case.

UPDATE ON MISSING ENDANGERED JUVENILE – CADEN REX SPEIGHT
Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives, Aviation Unit, Field Force Unit, and Mounted Unit, are continuing to search for Caden Rex Speight, who remains missing and is believed to be endangered. Through the initial investigation of the shooting reported in the 12800 block of SW Highway 484, around 4:10 p.m. yesterday, and Caden’s disappearance, detectives obtained information and collected evidence that are unsupportive of the initially reported facts.

Primarily, at this time, there is no evidence to indicate that he was taken by 4 Hispanic men in a light-colored van. It is possible that he left the incident location on a black bicycle with a red and grey tent, which he purchased at Walmart on SW 19th Avenue Road, in Ocala.

Since Caden is still a missing endangered juvenile, MSCO is asking anyone who may have seen a male matching his description with a dark-colored mountain bike and a tent to call 911.

"We respond to every 911 call with a determination to ensure justice is served and the truth revealed. But any law-enforcement officer will tell you that when these calls involve juveniles, it takes on an even greater intensity. This case is no different,” said Sheriff Billy Woods. “My deputies responded immediately, and I have dedicated all of my available resources to respond to this event. Initial information was later determined to be inaccurate; however, we always give everything we have until the investigation takes us into a different direction. I appreciate the many citizens who gave us tips and information to help my detectives. Understand, I will continue to have all of my available resources committed to locating this young man."

Woah. I haven’t even see this in comments on articles/FB posts. The facts weren’t adding up, but I thought there would be at least a sprinkle of truth within the story originally put out.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I did see one comment yesterday from a guy stating he saw a male on a bike in the area around the time of the reported incident. I forgot because I had immediately discounted it.

Sigh. So where did the 4 hispanic men story come from? I'm so tred of media getting things wrong. In this climate it could be a very dangerous thing to do. JMO
