PS said he didn't want JS to stay at home the night of the car accident because of the already bad relationship with Calyx -- he wanted to protect her dignity from being attacked by Calyx.

PS went with Julie to Windmoor and sat with her through most of the admission process until he had to go take care of the car pool. During the time she was at Windmoor, PS visited her the evening after she was admitted, bringing her items from home, went back to the next day, he'd go sometimes 2 or 3 times a day to visit her when he was in time. Windmoor in in Pinellas County, off of Hwy 19, a bit of a distance from Tampa.

On one visit, 4th or 5th day, JS begged PS to get her out of there. She told PS she didn't like being locked up.

I think this guy is pretty amazing. He stuck by her through a lot. I wonder why she did not see how far she had fallen? Most addicts would have at least started to recognize this and try to get better. Instead, she stayed in bed for weeks. I guess she had not "hit bottom" yet. Still blaming everyone else!

Hands up!

Who believes JS was on her way to an AA meeting but stopped off to have a drink and then crashed her car into a truck?

I don't get it. PS came from alcoholic parents, but he allowed alcohol in his house when JS was prone to drinking.
I call BS.
You don't have alcohol in a house with an alcoholic.
If you still need your wine with dinner, you get a divorce.
And you certainly DON'T go "whisk" your wife from the emergency room to avoid a DUI charge, that's enabling.

From the sounds of it, even if he had forbid alcohol in the home, she would have bought it anyway and just hid it from him.
As posted up-thread, she is very deceitful.

Thanksgiving 2010 - PS took children to panhandle for holiday.

On Wed before Thanksgiving, PS learned JS eligible for release from rehab, but chose not to go at that time to check her out. Decided to wait til the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

At that point, JS expressed extreme anger toward PS because he made her stay in rehab for 3 or 4 extra days.

Disagree...having lived through this with a loved one..he handled this perfectly. He was not enabling...he was protecting the kids.

Emotionally cruel to leave her there and exclude her from the holiday. Another example of his controlling nature.

JS told PS that when she had the car accident, she was on her was to an AA meeting, but had decided to have a couple drinks before getting in the car.

After JS admitted to Windmoor, PS advised Dr. Obregon of her admission via email.

I guess JS hadn't heard of Al-Anon.

No, again, disagree...kids needed something normal..SHE controlled the family for years because she did not take care of herself. JMO

there's a fine line between being an active partner (husband in this case) and playing cop or overseer in a person's recovery .....

By the sound of it, she was traveling at quite a speed. She pushed the truck she hit a few hundred feet. Did she nod off? Just bizarre.

PS contacted Dr. Obregon after JS's release for discussing how to help JS assimilate back into life after rehab. Dr O said Hippa rules prevented him from discussing her care.

PS asked JS (via email) to sign a release for Dr. O to discuss her medical care with him. JS responded she was not going to sign a release. She refused two separate times.

To me it comes down to one's own personal responsibility.

My father was a raging alcoholic, but I still have alcohol products in my home. I drink maybe twice a year. However I don't mind anyone drinking in my home unless they drink to excess.......which never happens because others know and respect how I feel.

It seems she covered up her excessive drinking when Parker was around just like she covered up her gambling problem. I don't think he felt she was an alcoholic. This woman covered up her true self to her own husband probably because she knew he wouldn't approve.

The only ones that got to see the real Julie was the two children she murdered in cold blood.

He just wanted his children to have a normal holiday before going back into the trenches with JS.

Didn't take care of herself? Did you not see the thousands of pages of medical documents chronically years and years of seeking treatment? Do you think if her suffering was from some other disease, instead of mental illness, she would have been treated differently? Perhaps not have been marginalized the way she was?
