Dr. Stein recalls 5 or 6 notations where some symptoms reported that could be considered a psychotic symptoms.

When she entered Windmoor, she was described as disheveled, etc., when released they believed she had gained "insight."

She was a sole parent and responsible for a couple of decades...he went off for weekends and so did she. He took time for hiking trips out of town football games etc. What's good for the goose is good for the gander...she wasn't doing anything immoral or illegal by going to the casino -- heck bingo was the game of choice in our neighborhood growing up for moms to catch a break. I realize that she may have gone overboard...but it isn't that uncommon anymore:truce:

Did he gamble?

Did she tell him about her gambling habit or did she do it behind his back? Did he even know about the 10K?

IMO

JS wrote a ''heartfelt'' letter where she explains her illness and thanks her daughter for coming into her life ((quote from DR)

The Dr. keeps stating that she doesn't recall the details of the letter and she'd be happy to review it. Yet defense keeps asking specific questions about the darn letter.
Let the good Dr. see the letter already!!

:banghead:

I don't think he knew at all because that's the reason she wouldn't sign releases for her doctors to speak with Parker

from what we have heard no...and she told her counsellor that she would tell him in next couple of years ((odd isn't it)) but she did have her own money and PS indicated that JS had her own $$ to do with as she wanted...she acquired her last car with her own $$

I am again making dinner and listening...

Def. is pointing out JS wanting family to understand mental illness (really making a point of it with the letter, etc.)
Is this not showing that she was more "sane" than "insane"?
:waitasec:

(Maybe she is leading up to something.... :dunno: )

:giggle: Dr. Stein schooling the lady Def. attn.

"What is the date on that?" "Is there a bates # on that?"

Dr. Elizabeth Marsh on 1/20/11 said patient had difficulty walking -- Parkinsonesk walking. Dr. Marsh said JS seemed "better." Also said JS very shaky. Mood not good.

How can she be impaired if she was in jail?
Did the dr. say that there was times when she interviewed JS that she was impaired? I am confused.

There's no way this defense attorney is going to impeach this witness. Stein won't allow it.

When the detectives were interviewing her.

from my very limited understanding ... it's a tricky dance to balance right amounts of meds to manage this complex SMI....especially since each of the meds have tricky side effects...

I wish she would give up! :deadhorse:

Why does the attorney ask a question, and when Stein starts to answer, she changes the subject? It's infuriating. Is she trying to confuse Stein?

Stein is really bothering me now lol. She is not just answering questions, she's advocating - always throwing in a little extra

I think it's because Stein keeps adding additional info beyond what the atty is asking

she did have a point though.....if her kids got her ''illness'' they would not be supported because .... no one understood her illness....she was in emotional pain and she did not want them to have the same experience....which is what this ''expert witness'' is alluding to

I do not agree with that logic, it is flawed, she did not get the support she needed because she was not compliant with her treatment plan, did not follow the advice of her doc (drinking or in patient treatment when advised) and refused to allow her husband access to her doc or records in order to help her. So her lack of support is self induced.

The things that she said in the police interview that were consistent with fact were reliable; the inconsistent things she said were due to being on Lithium overdose (per Dr. Stein)

In journal - JS wrote - "Parker, you've been so good to us and forward for our hours. I've learned so much from you. I'm sorry I took all this away from you."

"Parker, I love you. I've always loved you. I've always wanted the best for you. You're the best Dad too."

Dr. Stein said some of the sentences in the journal are not sensible. The first 4 pages are consistent. On Monday, she reread everything, and can't understand her own thoughts "I think I was drunk, yes I was drunk, I also used my leftover oxy"

Within the journal are some mixed feelings and some mixed writings, not only toward Parker but also toward her children.
