No. From my personal knowledge the insane person is oblivious to her mental state.

That's what I understood too -- that part of the ''markers'' of SMI is not realizing just how sick you are...heck even when you are physically ill (like high fevers etc) you can be oblivious to the degree you are ill

I have wondered why this wasn't a static display In the trial too....after all the poster size calendar was presented (boring)...no word about where, time etc of the gunshot and if you were driving along the road wouldn't you notice the car next to you having car window damaged by a bullet?? Lot's of traffic I am sure....odd:twocents:

My office faces a busy street. Unless I hear the sound of metal bending, glass breaking and the screech of brakes I don't get up to look at backfires.

Oh wait - has the state already given their closing? I tuned in a couple hours late

  • #364
The state gave the beginning of their closing, they will finish it after the conclusion of the defense's closing.

I wish we could have heard Parker's true thought's on what it was like living with Julie on a day to day basis. I know it was probably tough, but what was she really like? Did he see her as this mentally ill as everyone else?

I just don't believe she could have hid her MI from him if she was that sick as this defense is claiming. jmo

Its amazing what people don't want to see/know about....It could also be exhibited daily and you just become immune to the signs and symptoms. I don't think she was the warm and fuzzy type person--just don't see it in her. She probably could be abrupt--When my husband is sick he won't tell me what is wrong---I have to guess. It still surprises him when I know he's ill and he hasn't mentioned it.

I should also add that there was a point I was really really sick (month in bed sick--ER visits sick-I didn't get a lot of visitors in my room----sure a few minutes here and there but not a lot ---- family still alive
I should state I've been up since 1:00 am---and after listening to the female atty I'm not making much since myself.

It is possible she could have manipulated her entries?

No question JS knew she was very sick

BUT I don't think she was really trying that hard to get better--otherwise she would have checked in someplace--

I remember my aunt when I think of insanity and I remember she would be doing something really crazy and us kids would start laughing (mean bunch) she would look up because of the sudden noise of our laughter but nothing registered on her face. IMO she was incapable of realizing why we were laughing and she didn't give a rat's a$$ about us at all. She'd go right back to whatever she was doing and we'd get bored and leave.

Good point about the severity in physical ailments especially high fever! I didn't want to be touched or moved but I didn't know I was in such bad shape, running 106 degree temp. I thought I smelled bacon cooking but didn't realize it was probably my brain frying.

Would JS still reek of alcohol the next morning when LE arrived that they would be able to immediately smell it on her. Or was it that she may have awoken when the driver for the carpool rang the bell and she remember she had not put those notes on the door and then she went and drank some more eventually ending up lying down on the floor of the lanai?

I got the impression that she was driving BS to soccer practice (sometime after 430 pm - as she was at Hard Rock til 4ish....that's a busy time on the road during the week. So am guessing that she was taking regular route to soccer practice when she shot him. Seems to me there were other cars on the road given that it may have well been within regular ''commute hours'' (aka dinner/rush hour) ....

Remember PS testified that they communicated by writing, so that JS could go over it to help her understand if her memory failed her. This is why she wrote out her plan & described in detail how she executed her children. This is how she communicated with herself & PS. She first planned it out in her head & then wrote it down as per her normal way of communication.

BBM. Insane people don't first plan it out on paper. The "plan" included the final step of suicide and that's the piece she intentionally did not carry out.

She's a manipulator but she's not insane.

JMO

The reason why BS saw the pistol may be because JS reached for it but hesitated while a car passed by, giving her the opportunity to shoot him without anyone around. jmo

Trial is back in session, defense attorney for Schenecker will continue her summation #scheneckertrial

  • #375
per earlier testimony she and Parker communicated via the journal (re: they wrote back and forth in it) Those messages were to him as much as notes to a "dear diary"

The street I face is busy throughout the day. I believe the average number of vehicles on it is @65,000. I'm suggesting you get immune to the noises of backfires (sounds like gun shots) and someone beeping their horn (very rare out here). Emergency vehicles no longer get me out of my seat unless they stop real close to where I am. We have a lot of backfire noises from cars since the State quit inspecting them.

JS really does look so much better in that pink shirt. I do wish her attorneys could convince her to not don the grey blazer. She's needs to appear soft and feminine, helpless -- a victim -- gain sympathy from the jury, if she's to have any hope of winning (whatever winning would mean for her). Wearing those black and grey blazers day after day convey "control," "power" -- messages that need to be downplayed, IMO
