State's saying her motive was impending divorce and fear of living alone; however, she never ever mentioned that in her journal (to my knowledge) or in any of her statements to LE in the immediate days after.

I'd sure like to have the full copy of her journal -- they've referred to bits and pieces throughout the trial, but it would be helpful to see it all in context -- it would give better insight. Wonder if jury has it?

IMO evil is not sexist. It comes in all shapes and sizes. This is a mother whose own feelings were paramount and wouldn't tolerate kids who no longer orbited around her sun.

I remember the youngish girl (can't recall her name) but she wanted to see what killing a person felt like so she lured her young neighbor into the woods, killed her and the buried the child in a shallow grave.

True........I believe her name is Elizabeth Olgen. She was either 13 or 15 when she murdered the nine year old little girl.

NG - Insanity, I have decided that interspersed moments of sanity or clarity do not constitute a sane mind, I think she's been sick for a long time and only getting sicker.

I think the only difference the verdict will make is where she receives treatment for the rest of her life.

Agree. Only I hope it IS for life -- whether prison or mental health facility. She's not safe to herself or others, plus she can't function on her own (imo)

Apparently, she went to a pawn shop on Fowler to begin with. They didn't have any guns, and referred her to Lock & Load. She followed GPS.

This is probably irrelevant but I can not help but wonder how she did that day at the Hard Rock. I know when I used to go to the casino and lose my :butthead: I come home feeling miserable that my dreams did not come true.
Wonder how her session was that day?

PS- I still go to the casino, but I have learned to have fun with it, take it for what it is (entertainment), and not hope I am coming home rich

See this is where I'm hung up. JS was well practiced at pretending to be 'ok'. I think she pulled it together enough for appearance sake (very important in the military) on many occasions. So while it seems she was thinking clearly and functioning well cognitively, it could've been an 'act'. People with BP type 1 IN psychotic breaks CAN appear clear thinking if they really wish to. They can't keep it up for very long but it can be done.

She kept it up for five days to avoid detection.

Respectfully it takes cognitive thinking to know how to put on an act. Imo, she wasn't acting. This is exactly the way she was prior to doing these crimes and when she carried them out.
