I'm so glad I'm not sitting on this jury.
My head feels like it's gonna explode.
I sure hope the jury instructions narrow it down for me.

I hope the lady defense atty animates her voice more. She is hard to listen to after a few moments, she sounded like she was reading from a list of recipe ingredients. IMO the male defense atty is much better.

Apparently, she went to a pawn shop on Fowler to begin with. They didn't have any guns, and referred her to Lock & Load. She followed GPS.

IIRC at one point is was suggested that she went to Oldsmar because she thought there wasn't a 3 day wait there, but I don't remember the source of that info or where the gun-shop-suggestion info came into play. TIA to anyone who can clarify the sources!

State's closings short but they have chance to come back after defense for final say #JulieSchenecker

This is a very seasoned Prosecutor. He makes the first phase of his argument very short but hard hitting. Now its the defense's turn ...leaving the DA a lot of time to rebut everything they are going to say. The defense attorney looked stunned that he ended so quickly.

Good call.

IMO

I am a Coke-aholic!:floorlaugh:

In fact one time long ago our five year old granddaughter at the time told the Preacher that very same thing. I was so embarrassed and quickly explained I was addicted to Coke-A-Cola........not the illegal drug known as coke.:floorlaugh::please:

If restaurants don't have Coke products.........we don't go there!

Pepsi taste way too sweet to me. Like its being sitting there and has become flat. (Gag)

I still am unclear about the shooting of BS. I keep saying "What street were they on where you can fire 2 shots- one of which goes through the passenger window- without anyone seeing or hearing a thing?"

The last forensic psychiatrist that testified for the State (the cute lady with the glasses) was, in my opinion, devastating to JS's case. She seems very familiar with the case and all its players and backs up all her conclusions with multiple examples.

So if MI didn't cause JS to kill her children what are we left with? Was it just evil and anger that made her do it? We hear cases of husbands committing suicide after killing their families and we generally say "he was just evil. If he wanted to kill himself fine, but why did he have to kill the family"?

I feel that MI did cause JS to kill her children, but I believe she knew that killing her children was wrong.
I have had to disconnect my feelings from the facts in this case and just focus on what the law is.
Legally she does not fit the requirements to be found NGRI because I believe there is evidence proving she knew what she was doing was wrong.

My hope for her is that she gets the mental help she needs whether it be in prison, or a mental hospital.

The verdict in this case makes no difference for me, which is odd considering I usually have a very strong opinion by now and am either elated at the verdict or storming mad.

But this time, I honestly feel sorry for JS and wish her well and hope she finds a treatment program that works for her. She has to live with the fact that she murdered her own children, and her being in a place where she can't numb out on alcohol and pain pills and has to face that reality day after day is enough of a sentence to satisfy me.

You can not beat the glass bottles of Mexican Coke.
They still use real sugar, SO much better!
Probably common in southeastern states so close to Mex, but here in Michigan they are a treat :)

ETA- And they are 12 oz size...not the "minis". The Minis are good too tho!

she thought the neighbors would hear the gunshots from inside the house....

Regardless of whether it was MI or just plain old evil, you can really see the impact all of this has had on JS. That's why I kind of feel sorry for her. She looks like a totally different woman than she did when the children were alive. All the medicine and incarceration and memories have worn her down.

My hope is that she will be held in the psych ward at the prison. That way she can be closely monitored and get the help she needs. I don't blame anyone for having MI. Even the ones that commit horrible crimes deserve to be freed from their illness.
