In journal, to Parker,
"I'm sorry, so sorry. I don't know what to say. But I sensed divorce was inevitable. I can't go on alone."

He's good

I love the easy laid back manner he uses to talk with the jury. Its like they are a group of his friends and he is just discussing the case with them.

He comes across as very honest and caring.

I like that he is defending Parker.

State: #JulieSchenecker knew she could lose home, cars, husband, lunches w/friends ~ she recognized she couldn't live alone

She also knew she would lose the children and didn't want her husband to have them. This case isn't about insanity, it is about domestic violence.

That is why I have continuously said if they follow the law she will be deemed sane and found guilty of first degree murder.

IMO

It's not stated in the statute that she's sane if she knew that it violates the law and knew that society considers it wrong - that must be how the courts have applied the statute over time though and is probably part of the jury instructions. That is a very helpful clarification. Without it, there's more of an argument that she thought what she was doing was "right."

#JulieSchenecker Parker wanted her to be part of the family after rehab. If not, they would make it without her.

#JulieSchenecker State: Julie implores Parker to take her out of rehab and Julie was angry when he wouldn’t “nobody understands Julie"

In journal, to Parker,
"I'm sorry, so sorry. I don't know what to say. But I sensed divorce was inevitable. I can't go on alone."

And that is the motive for her murdering his two children.

She left him fatherless and alone.

Hi friends  been listening all day. And just based on the tone of defense counsel, I would vote to convict. No, not really. I have been on the fence through trial, but closings are really bringing it together for me, and I would vote to convict. However, I would want JS to go to a mental institution and not prison.

Prosecutor is focusing on how angry Julie was at Parker for making her go to rehab. #ScheneckerTrial

The state obviously must have anticipated that the defense would come down on Parker - and also that Parker might come across as cold or unemotional during his testimony - because they have tried to mitigate that throughout the trial IMO

Julie wrote in her journal to her husband: "I might have taken you out too. That would have been a crying shame.” #ScheneckerTrial
