I think she was just lying about being locked in a room or forced to give up her baby. I think her baby was taken by CPS and adopted out.

I'm curious about "Lullaby" Road......these 2 lived there in 3-4 different homes. (halfway house, fire house, neighbors and the last house)
So many people had to know everything that went on. People talk and gossip.

Why did Bury defend "the dogs" in several writings with Duane?

also How long was the Bury's married? no children?

Bury didn't want Walsh at the halfway house and her husband was there also............why?
Bury and Walsh together 3 ? years?
1 tubal pregnancy, Duane and Chance?

Bury wrote her mother made her give her baby away 10 years ago.
Bury claimed mother locked her in her room.........was she on drugs then? unmanageable? or plain abuse?
I am thinking mother knew something was wrong way back then, I could be wrong though.

Okay. So from what I was able to gather...

She married Bury in 2005 or 06. That 215 random questions thing she filled out on FB was in 2009? I think and she said married 3.5 years.

Bury was about 20 years her senior. And it appears they shared some legal and addiction issues, since the house they were first living in on Lullaby was a post-rehab living arrangement with a sponsor. JW was also there post-rehab. This was mid-2012.

My guess is she was sober, tired of being married to a much-older, not very attractive man, and JW looked like a catch. He probably looked much healthier, in fact in her pics of him late 2012 to early 2013, he looks very neat and well-groomed.

I have my doubts that they remained sober until after Duane's death. But that is just my gut feeling. I do, however, think they were able to hold jobs and show some semblance of normalcy, even if they were using moderately.

After Duane's death, by the photos, it appears they went on a full-out bender. The only thing that seems off to me is JW's startling weight loss, whereas KB did not seem to lose weight but her teeth rapidly rotted! Perhaps she was not using as much during her pregnancy with Chance, or using opiates (pills) which would not cause weight loss like meth or cocaine.

I am typing this on my phone, so all the dates are pulled from my rather faulty memory and I don't have all my screen shots and saved links. If I am in need of correction, someone please feel free.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to work on a timeline going back a decade or so. Maybe I can get one together.....

That does make me think she kept her drug use on the lighter side while pregnant. Only I guess it doesn't matter since she just killed her babies after the fact.

But it would explain her relatively healthy appearance compared to that of JW.

Another thought is that her drugs of choice might be pills (opiates), while JW we KNOW had a big ole coke freakout right before Chance was born so it is not out of left field to assume that is the drug that he favored.

Where to no-job-having people get all the $$ for these drugs? I can't afford my rx meds and I work!

I'm thinking that I saw the wedding license and it was issued on December 26 and they got married on the 31st?

On the topic of home visits: here in Canada (at least in the province I live in) home visits occur within the first week of baby being born. When my brother was born, the home visit nurse came to our house the day after my mom was discharged. The nurse did a complete check up on my brother, asked my mom a bunch of questions, and then did a genetics blood test on my brother before she left. My mom's pregnancy was completely normal and my brother was born at full term.

Slightly OT, but shouldn't this be in the "located" forum now? I'm not completely caught up, but last I read on the previous thread was that Chance was found. Was the body not his?

I'm in Canada too. In my province, only with midwives do you get home visits. Otherwise, they do all that in the hospital. With either, you have to option of a nurse coming to visit. She wouldn't be doing the blood tests though. The nurses are more someone you'd be discussing issues with, milestones, breastfeeding, that kinda thing.



As for being forced to give a baby up for adoption, I think it was more like her mom said she gives the baby up or she turns her in. Maybe she locked her in her room to prevent her from using while PG. If that happened at all....

DIC is readily and obviously apparent when we open a body at autopsy. You can't miss it and it would most definitely be noted in the autopsy findings if it were present. DIC was not noted in this case.

Also, I see a lot of speculation that Duane's kidney infection was from an ascending infection from the urinary tract or circumcision. In an older child or adult, most kidney infections do result from ascending infection in the urinary tract, or blockage somewhere in the tract due to stones or other obstructions.

In infants, however, kidney infections sometimes arise spontaneously from within the retroperitoneum and do not involve the lower tract (urethra, bladder, or ureters) at all. This phenomenon is not well understood, but it does rarely arise in infants.

I think Duane's death was caused by multiple factors. He was 3 weeks premature so was a little more fragile than a full term baby. His mother's drug use during pregnancy likely compromised his fetal development to some degree, as evidenced by the rib malformations, and he may have had some immune system comprise, or disorder of complement factors that caused easy bleeding (the blood coming from the nose). He may simply have been unable to combat an acute episode of pyelonephritis. The ME didn't note anything unusual with the glomeruli, and did not note glomerulonephritis in the report. Nor did he note urethritis, cystitis, or ureteritis, which makes me suspect a rare case of spontaneous pyelonephritis originating the retroperitoneum.

This condition is treatable, if caught early, with IV antibiotics. The infant would have been irritable, uninterested in feeding, feverish, and tender in the abdominal region and flanks. A thorough exam would have picked it up, but pediatricians do not expect this condition to be present and may have written if off to a mild viral infection that would run its course in due time. That's the case 99.5% of the time, but that 0.5% of undetected serious infection will bite you in the azz every time.

The ME did note rib deformity, but ruled out trauma as the cause. I personally suspect the rib deformity may have been due to drug use during a critical time of fetal development.

Also, had the death been caused by sepsis, we would have listed the cause of death as sepsis due to acute pyelonephritis, manner of death as natural.

Gold stars all around on this! My son began vomiting and had a sudden spike in fever when he was 4 weeks old and I took him to Children's Hospital about an hour after he woke with a fever. They had to do a clean urine catch and then had to draw blood. If either of those two had looked bad (signs of infection), they wanted to do a spinal to be sure (I was terrified of this thought as we already had to have the blood draw/port in his little scalp). Luckily both the urine and blood came back free of infection (but was sent to culture anyway), and it turns out my son just picked up a nasty viral thing from Chuck-E-Cheese. MOTY bringing a baby along to a 5 year old's birthday party!

Anyway, this was exactly what they were checking for and those nurses were AMAZING. I was so thankful for them.
