I agree, the visual of her child in the crib leaves me just...reaching for words.

My hope is she doesn't get the DP, that somehow she is sent to a mental ward in a prison so she can be studied by doctors. There is something missing within her, something not natural. I don't know if I buy the blame it on drugs. She was sane enough to post on FB and attempt to manipulate. Her thought process was working just fine on FB, cover up her nasty deed.

I want doctors and LE to have more information regarding these type of people. Nothing that can be used as defense. The fact she could function as her baby laid in his crib, expired? How? If I could only hug and kiss that baby one time.

What's missing is her heart, she loves herself with no regard for human life unless it benefits her. There are way to many people in the world just like her. We read about them here, see them on the news, hear about them in music lyrics and send them off to fill our jails and prisons. To often they've already impressed their ways on young minds that are close to them, leading to another generation cycle.

Meh, IDK. I am a leftie and have (not bragging) beautiful, right-slanting script. I was made to work extra hard on my handwriting in school because my left-handedness made my writing rather sloppy. I was lucky that my 4th grade teacher was also a lefty and a lovely person. She encouraged me, rather than shaming me.

Today, I am often asked to handwrite documents and other things because my handwriting is "so pretty'.

As long as Chance was in his crib, "sleeping" and quiet (and not smelling of decomp yet) allowed her to keep living the fantasy that they were still a nice, small little family. She seemed to like the idea of a family - her and JW happy with each other and a nice "quiet" baby in a crib to complete the fantasy. It may even have taken the overpowering smell of decomposition to snap her into the reality that the baby was not happily sleeping, but dead. At that point, the body had to go somewhere else, so she finally buried him, and fled to "start a new life". She even continued to elicit sympathy from strangers for her baby who "died" three weeks ago, as a normal person might when their child died naturally. She even had his clothes with her which, in addition to their value in trying to sell them, allowed her to reach out to strangers to talk about the baby she "lost" and once again play the role of grieving mother.

Sick she was, no doubt about it.

bbm -- I think that's the key. Not all of us had left-handed or understanding teachers. I went through several years of being told to do it this way, that way or another way and criticized every step of the way. Today, my handwriting has some similarities to KB's, which is why I suspect she may be a lefty.

Dead looks nothing like sleeping -- even before the decay sets in. She had to deliberately shut her mind off to even play at such a pretense. The little guy wasn't dressed or wrapped in a blanket or anything like you'd do with a live or sleeping baby -- he was just set down with a diaper and left to rot. I can't understand the crib, and I can't understand wrapping his naked body in a trash bag and shoving it into a closet, and I can't understand dumping him like trash.

My kid lost a chicken nugget a couple days ago. We spent more time looking for that nugget and disposing of it properly (mostly to avoid the stink) than these two lowlifes did with their baby. It's nauseating to think about.

this case caught my eye because of how similar it is to something that happened locally earlier this year. junkie mom, boy was not even 3 weeks old, failed by cps, his dad, grandparents. the mom took baby and ran in a meth fueled psyotic breakdown slept with baby overnight in a slough and the baby died of exposure. they were already on cps radar because the boy was born with meth in his system, but were sent home to the grandparents with a "safety plan".

anyways...im surprised baby chance survived as long as he did. i think the grandparents, neighbors, friends who suspected something but didn't do anything are just as much to blame as the parents. like kbs mom and dad who went to check on her on 9/5 but then nothing until a month later when kb and jw call them about the car crash. or kallas who said he was thinking of calling dcf. or the neighbor who says kb was using while pregnant. why wouldn't you call dcf about that! the community organized a fundraiser for them when their house burnt down, why couldn't they organize an intervention for baby chance?

his parents failed him but things like this will keep happening as long as there isn't more support from community or social services.

btw has anyone read her poems on booksie? they are interesting, one suggests abuse by her mom and another admits meth use. if its true that her mom dropped her off for an induction and didnt give her support during labor thats very sad. i can see why her favorite book would be a child called it if her mom abused her. this whole thing is so bizarre and tragic. it seems like things may have turned around for her with duane and his death sent her back into addiction (cant say i blame her, im not an addict but i would definitely turn to drugs as an escape if i lost my only child). but on the other hand she posted so little of her kids on facebook. all the pics of duane were posted after his death, and theres only a couple pictures of chance. strange for someone who posted so much abd so often.

Hmm is this the supervisor or the counselor? The counselor was the one who screen out on Chance. No phone calls, not anything at all for this little boy.
