I think it depends on the Walmart. In our super Walmart, you couldn't hope to see the Mcdonalds or entrance from the clothing section. I sure hope surveillance reveals what she could and could not see.
Which leads me to wonder what layouts are in other parts of the country...?
I live In Texas, and all of ours have the same layout. There are 3 entrances. If you are standing in front of walmart looking into the store...
The grocery side is on the far right side and the homegoods/clothing side is sandwiched between the grocery entrance and the garden entrance on the left. So, it's pretty much the middle of the building as far as scale. The McDonalds is directly inside the grocery entrance, on the right. When you walk in the grocery side, you see the McDonalds right there, walk a few feet and the produce section starts. All the grocery aisles are behind that. When you walk in the homesgoods side, the woman's clothing is right there (you can't see the McDonlds, other then lights on) and behind that is the little girls clothing. (You can't the mcdonalds at all rom that section.) The baby stuff is sandwiched in between the pharmacy and girls clothing. Definitely can't see the McDonalds from there.
Sorry that was a novel. Basically, what I'm saying...unless you are in the cosmetics or at the checkout stand, you can NOT see the McDonalds. Which makes her allowing her daughter to go with him (I believe she did) even more insane. BUT, it sounds like the layout of that store is quite different...??
