this won't be popular opinion but: i'm not too sure how I feel about the fathers' atty posting on FB about the case. I find it highly unprofessional and personally, I'd fire him. I'm grateful for the posts though, gives an insight to it all .. but it's not helping anything.

It is unprofessional and I am not sure why he is choosing to do so. I have never seen anything like it. I really don't understand what his agenda is.

I was able to post I liked it first then realized I was on my own page :blushing: I wish everyone would post support so they see just how many people out here are outrages if enough people care just maybe the Father will get people to help the Fathers who are trying like Billy did to stop this from happening to other children. I would be saying the same thing even if my son and our family were not fighting the system. Mothers who make bad judgements are also the ones we read about here much too often.

Looks like her father is being granted a private viewing with his family and friends before the public service. Good. He deserves to mourn for his daughter without RP around, IMO.

I do agree that the offender is the one ultimately to blame for Cherish's death.
Her mother could have handed Cherish to him and if he was a GOOD guy she would still be alive.

I look at it like this (since I'm very into car seats and child passenger safety):

If I get hit by a drunk driver and my children are killed... yes, that is the drunk drivers fault.
HOWEVER, if I have my babies unrestrained in that car... and it was a likely survivable crash?
Well, then I see the death of the children as a 50/50 blame.

The drunk driver's actions don't take away the fault from ME for not restraining them.
If I had restrained them, they'd likely be alive.
If he hadn't driven drunk, they'd likely be alive.

I see Cherish's death much the same way.
If he hadn't been a monster, she'd likely be alive.
If her mother had protected her, she'd likely be alive. :twocents:

Thanks for all the thoughts, observations, and clarifications. Yes, in the video it is obvious that the mother had that red hair at Walmart. I'm still having a hard time seeing if it was the same dress though...cannot see the top really well.

Have you, by chance, traveled between Cherish's home to the Walmart? It would be nice to know what type of trip that would be on foot, especially with three children in tow (as I don't think we've yet to hear if Cherish's mother or her b/f own a working vehicle...but the fact that the stroller was in use at DG would suggest to me that the mother walked with Cherish and her siblings to DG).

You're more than welcome..As far as the trip from Cherish's Residence to the WM would be a very long walk as mentioned in my previous post it was 5.58 miles from the DG to the WM..From Cherish's address to the WM is 6.3 Miles about a 17 minute drive per mapquest..A very high traffic area/road..

The area of town where Cherish lived is below poverty level, gangbangers, riddle with drugs and very high rates of crime...It isn't somewhere a law abiding citizen would want to be after dark...IMO

As far as the car I read an article in a news link that said a car has been donated to the family per Ann Dugger of the Jacksonville Victims Coalition Also there has been a fund set up if anyone would like to donate to the family..I will look for this link and post if I can find it..So i'm assuming they had no vehicle prior..

One article says they are taking up money for the expenses like headstone and flowers.

This article states the headstone and burial plot are both being donated by the funeral home.

Thank fully I do not know the law about funerals, but if I do know that a mother can keep a father from any activity even when shared custody in the state of NJ she only has to allow what the court order says.My son has been thru hell and back. I am glad he is letting the public know,why should it be hidden?If he goes and he does have the right to go,and gets arrested then people will say see how bad he is,he was arrested at his own daughters funeral! Why would anyone side with barring a father from his daughters funeral who is that heartless besides the mother?His neglect did not let this child be taken by a pedophile hers did.:stormingmad:

I could *almost* understand if it was a Justice for Cherish page but it isn't. It's a memorial page for Cherish. Lawyer's posts are way out of line on that avenue- especially on Facebook. MOO.

Not defending the lack of lawyerly professionalism by any means, but I wonder if, in reality, he's not a lawyer he hired specifically for this case, but a guy whom he's friends with who also happens to have a law degree...and practices another type of law, like....copyright, patent, etc.

I don't know why someone would donate to Rayne and her boyfriend after hearing the details of the case. Although I honestly don't feel that bad for anyone who gives $$ or items which are then used in a way they didn't attend (read the lawyers' post on the FB page about the air conditioners to see what I am saying) because the shady details of this family and case are readily available.

I think he might be the father's lawyer for the custody case? Since this is a separate matter, I think he is allowed to talk about it. I don't think it would be any different from a friend telling another friend something. I don't think lawyer confidentiality rules would apply right now.

I am sure they know all about it and is the reason the Courts own independent evaluator wanted her to go to the father .Unless you have ever known a dad who is going thru this you have no idea how it works.I thought I knew until my son needed them for my grandson.Why do you think we read horror stories across the USA about children who die and before they were abused to death CPS or what ever the Child protection Service is called in your state was already aware and has a case file but children die everyday.More from children in homes with either a mom or a boyfriend who abuses them to death. Hopefully getting this info out to the public just might Cherish Exception number 2,and get changes made that can help child my making the Family court system really provide what is in the best interest of the child. I believe that had charity made it a few more hours she would not be dead, so in this case the Court evaluator was right but the Judge and CPS failed miserably for this child.

Anyone in the Jacksonville area that would like to support Cherish's father are asked to please attend the viewing and funeral of Cherish.

I do support the Father of Cherish because I personally know for a fact how incompetent the Duval County Courts can be..However I will not be attending this service due to the fact I feel it isn't a place to be with the feelings that I have..I will not sit and watch a show go on in this little precious angels memory..This is about Cherish and not her family drama. Again I will refrain from saying anymore..

I agree for the most part, however I think it's worth considering that "if her mother had protected her" maybe the scenario could have gotten worse. e.g. the offender becoming angry he wasn't getting what he wanted so attacks the mother and/or the children
