Maybe if they hadn't found her body, a deal may have been struck.

He was very cunning. All of the false pretenses, able to think quick to get what he wants. Look how much time RP spent shopping for items that were never going to be purchased because there was no gift card? He is a master of manipulation.

Unfortunately, it sounds like he's had a lot of practice at this.
