Medical Examiner to testify today. We are forewarned that it will be very graphic.

I've sorted it on wildabouttrial

Yes. But there are "laggers behind" who don't get there on time. Court must wait for them.

I want to thank everyone for the updates. I've been here from the beginning and have hung in there 5 years waiting for this trial. I've been taken aback how hard it's been for me, and I have not been able to watch. I really appreciate the dedication and updates from all of you!!

First witness today, Tues., Feb. 13, 2018, is Jerome Bruton Works for Dr. Pepper/Snapple, a 15-year employee. He maintained property that was owned by his deceased uncle. This witness is the one who found the stroller on that property.

He is showing signs of breaking into tears.

Testimony didn't last long. Was not cross examined.
Now on to Witness #2 for today:

James Carter, now retired. Officer for JSO for over 23 years. Major Crimes Investigator/Crime Scenes Unit. Was at the crime scene at Church as investigator.

Totally agree. At one point today he smirked after he was identified (don't remember which witness but it was very offensive).

moo

Was it the Dollar General Store manager witness?

Next witness may be the ME. Yes, it is. Dr. Valerie Rao.

(Ironically, for the testimony she has to deliver today, she has a lovely accent.)

You are doing the right thing by not subjecting yourself to something that may do you harm. Thanks for hanging in for 5 years. It is so rare that after such a lapse we get a chance to bring someone to justice.

Can a juror be excused once testimony starts? Like when ME starts talking and a juror just can't stand to listen to it?

  • #354
Getting a lot of ads and "commentator imposing breaks", mid-testimony, on Law and Crime. Didn't have this yesterday.

Figured out why. I have not been on "uninterrupted live feed" this morning. Just now switched over and problem solved.

This Dr. Valerie Rao, ME, is so soft-spoken and genteel. Softens the blow of such testimony, but not so much that you are unaffected by its impact.

This ME is thoroughly answers questions.

A tweet said DS' attorneys looking at autopsy photos, but he isn't.

This group of jurors were warned about what they would see during jury selection. I doubt this person would ask to be taken off the jury.

If he/she asked, the judge would take it up with the juror out of hearing of courtroom.

It's hard to get taken off the jury except for illness or breaking the rules.
