DS -- The poor, poor guy -- he's clinically depressed. But he's still drawing breath, sleeping in a bed for free, his meals. clothes, & showers are free, and he is alive.
Discussed pedophilia - stated there is no one event in his history that explains this. Had an inappropriate relationship with his mother, but a lot of people do and don't end up pedophiles and murderers.
Diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder and borderline personality disorder.
He was diagnosed with similar things as far back as 1977.

This Dr. Holmes refers to his relationship with his mother as "inappropriate." To me, that means he sleeps with her or something weird like that. Sounds more like his mother "enabled" him, which is what I suspected. Always bailing his out of his criminal/legal & financial difficulties. Giving his a place to live, etc. We have learned that he is an only child.
Nothing has been said about wetting the bed. He did exhibit voyeurism at a young age (peeping inappropriately). He did burn a car early on, I seem to remember reading. So there's the proclivity for arson.
The state is now cross examining the psychologist.
Testified previously (in her depo) that there is nothing mitigating to DS, and nothing mitigating to what DS did.
Nothing that she saw in treating DS indicated any remorse (but she did not specifically ask).
He admitted to raping and killing her during treatment (but she did not ask specifics of the crime, i.e. sodomy).
He told psychologist that he blamed Cherish for having to kill her. He told psychologist he was angry Cherish got in the van with him, and thought, "I'm a convicted sex offender, how am I going to explain this?"
His personality disorders do not inhibit or effect his impulse control; only his drug addiction may alter his impulse control.
In prior records he denied attempting/trying to kidnap Cherish.
