Distinguishing between step fathers right now. Mr. Smith (step father) was abusive (in witness's opinion), Mr. Moore (another stepfather) was neglectful but not abusive.
ETA: the state pointed out DS's mother denied Mr. Smith was abusive in any way. Witness says she would not admit that unless behind closed doors so DS's mom denying the abuse does not surprise her.

"you have a different interpretation of the word NO?"

OMG LOVE THIS GUY.

Witness claims in past docs DS's mom did admit DS was sexually and otherwise abused by a family member, but she never did anything about it nor elaborated on it.

Turning to DS's marriage now. Witness believes it was only a few years, it was brief, and he was incarcerated during it.

"Disciplined behind doors."

Might mean nothing more than mom would have interfered with reasonable discipline???

She looks confused that he has no more questions for her

Re-direct starting now

The son should be next

He's a model prisoner. No problems with impulse control while incarcerated. Shares his 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 mags with fellow inmates; buys them stuff from the commissary in prison with mom's funds for him; lets the select few sit on his bunk to look at his mags.
The prison commissary sells 🤬🤬🤬🤬 mags?? Damn.

I've heard of this recently. Apparently, prisoners have the right to their brand of reading material!

No. The 🤬🤬🤬🤬 magazines he purchased/traded through "other" sources; other inmates, or whoever/however these illicit materials/drugs get into the prisons.

For reals, yo. w.t.f.

No. not from commissary. But there are ways for them to get these materials. It was referenced in one of the many articles we've seen here about his case.

Donald Smith Jr is supposed to testify next, but he is Skyping from a McDonald's and there is music playing in the background. Julie Schlax tells him to try to go outside to connect to wifi from there. @FCN2go #DonaldSmith

No. I doubt from commissary. But through other "sources" within the prison system.
