Some lady said she THINKS she may have seen him at a homeless camp but I don't know how much I buy that. I guess at this point anything is possible. What I'm wondering is where this hitch hiker thing comes in. GPD posted that they had a clue about Pedro having possibly picked up a hitch hiker at around that time. I also wonder where his car is and if this hitch hiker could have anything to do with the car being gone. Maybe it wasn't a hitch hiker and there was a 2nd person involved? What do you all think?

Iv'e thought since learning more that there almost has to be a second person involved given Pedro's Blazer is missing. I think evidence was in that vehicle and he dumped it. Probably in a lake or swamp. Someone had to have given him a ride, whether it be someone he knew or a stranger. .

I've found in many cases that video may not be posted right away. It seems stations hold back so they can continue airing through the broadcast.

But you probably know that!

I'm looking also, following twitter, social mention, google, and the FB pg

Thanks, I found it.

I feel so bad for all of them. I feel bad for the girlfriend too because she is taking all this heat and must feel like it's her fault. Who knows what the fight was really about.

The last time something like this happened in Gainesville was in 1989 with Tiffany Sessions who went jogging in the woods and was never found again. I hope this story has a very different outcome.

I was thinking this same exact thing. There are so many lakes and swamps in Gainesville. It is very possible.

Wait ... could this be turned around? Maybe Bravo didn't pick up a hitchhiker ... instead, maybe Bravo was the one who hitched a ride after dumping his vehicle. Either way, I think it will be a big help in finding Aguilar if LE can locate this other person.

I did not think of it like that! That's a good point. But then where does the white guy in his 50s come in? Unless that's who Bravo was hitching a ride with...?

There's also a lot of woods, won't be too long before leaves fall, but right now the vegetation is dense. If he dumped the car in the woods he didn't walk back.
I'm sure LE is putting together a timeline as to his whereabouts after the altercation. It has been mentioned that LE has determined the pings, from both phones which led them to the search areas.

I also wonder if they have any surveillance video from the parking lot that they are keeping close to the vest?

I started to post that too then deleted it. But it may have been something that the media wasn't supposed to hear and they reported wrong just to get a story.

Wouldn't be the first time, no offense to your profession gatorgirl!

I hope they do. This is going to be very hard. Gainesville alone has like a million lakes, swamps, and rivers to search. And that's not even including the little towns right outside of Gainesville like Micanopy. Wish I were still in Gainesville to help! It's killing me watching this helpless family on the news.

Did a quick scan and didn't see it. Is there a map of the known locations, etc somewhere?

No offense taken! I majored in it but that doesn't mean I have to like it or agree with it! haha!

Here is the parking lot where Bravo said he originally left him:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=goog...+Gainesville,+Alachua,+Florida+32609&t=m&z=16

Here is where they are currently searching after not having found anything in the first location:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Caba...&hnear=Gainesville,+Alachua,+Florida&t=m&z=12

They are searching the state preserve park but I think they need to focus around Paynes Prairie. As you can see on the map, it's a huge chunk of land, swamp, and river. It's also very easy to get to. (Have been there many times). It's basically a straight drive down.

Ok, anyone have a clue as to what made them jump way up there? And how reliable is that parking lot in terms of where the fight took place?

  • #139
I do want to add from sarx that I've learned there is so much difference between a K/9 police dog (usually first on the ground) a live scent dog and a cadaver dog. So much can also depend on the handler. Usually they have backup dogs to confirm any hits that one dog may have gotten. I know that's just the cliff notes version and I hope I got it semi right but I'm posting this just in case family is reading and they need more info and resources.

Well good question. That's the story the POI gave, but it has been confirmed by LE that is the area where the last pings made on Christians phone were from. As far as the POI they have not said where his phone pinged after that. Also, Christian's phone is missing and is part of the search obviously.
