-- Defendant is being charged as an adult.
-- No juror will believe that the victim fell on a knife as she was lunging at defendant --- causing a deep stab wound to her neck... not possible, imo
-- As rescue arrived, victim is pronounced dead at the scene.
-- Deputies asked defendant what happened and defendant uncooperative; and asked for an attorney.
-- Inconsistencies between what defendant had stated happened in his 911 call and what was discovered at the scene.
-- Witnesses told detectives both mother and son were verbally arguing outside the residence; and witnessed him grab his mother by the hair and drag her inside the home.
-- The ME Officer's autopsy showed that the victim died of a deep penetrating knife wound to the neck; and determined the stab wound to be inconsistent with an accidental injury.

Florida State Attorney Brian Haas explained his decision to charge Griffith as an adult, saying, “I made the decision to charge this 17-year-old as an adult based upon the egregious facts and circumstances of this case. Charging a minor as an adult is not a decision that I take lightly, but as state attorney, it is my responsibility to do so when warranted.”
