Details, when bad things happen to good people especially children I get upset. I in no way was discounting your opinion but rather my own frustration showing through. I admire you and your take on everything.

I also tend to look at where there is smoke there is fire. It comes from many decades of living and seeing patterns. Of course, there is always an exception and for that I am grateful. It makes our take more grey and open to new possibilities. But, I have to go with gut sometimes as it has lead me so far.

So, let's just explore what happened to Coral Rose and seek justice that her life wasn't snuffed away because of someone else's picadillo's.

And he's being extremely honest - not trying to blame it on anyone else, accidental downloads, or his kids - just makes me think he is doing the right thing to keep the focus on finding his daughters killer.

My interpretation of the child porn and the father is the same as yours. I hope they are looking at leads outside of the immediate family as well.

I hope that the mother is cooperating with law enforcement regarding the child rape video's that were in her husbands possession as the odds are good that One has Everything to do with the Other........... :twocents:

Do we know if Coralrose's body had any signs of sexual abuse? Not only possible long-term abuse but did someone possibly rape/molest her, then kill her? Also, do we know the cause of death, ie a blow to the head, strangulation, etc.?

It has been reported that there were no signs of sexual abuse, I do not know if this means acute or chronic or both. I cannot recall if cause of death has been stated.

I'd have to assume both, especially since that statement was given without any qualification - not "No signs of recent sexual abuse", but "No signs of sexual abuse.". IIRC, cause of death is just listed as not natural, definitely homicide, without elaboration. No doubt they're keeping that info secret to use to qualify any confessions they get, or informants.

That's a good question, TaxiMom. I think it is true that certain types of abuse would not be obvious during an exam. I do not know the details of what's typically looked for in an exam of this type.

I tend to read these things in a scientific sense - seems to be how both forensic scientists, and LE detectives speak - very precise. So when you say, "No evidence of sexual assault" - that means of any kind. "No evidence of recent sexual assault", "No evidence of prior sexual abuse", "No evidence of vaginal penetration", etc. would be used if there were limits, if the found evidence of other forms or times of sexual abuse. IMHO, listen for the exclusions, the loopholes. That'll tell you what they're really saying. It's tended to work well in lots of cases. Not that the police won't lie about it and make a broader statement than is true, if that is needed to help catch the perp.

Candlelight vigil to honor memory of North Port girl

NORTH PORT -- A month and a half after 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood was found dead two blocks from her North Port home, community members will honor the slain girl Friday at a candlelight vigil.

Tammy Webster, a single mother of four, said she felt compelled to reach out to the family after Coralrose's death. Webster asked the city this week if she could host the vigil in front of the Fullwood's Calabash Lane home.

North Port police agreed to patrol the streets during the vigil to help with lighting and traffic control.

"I've got a 6-year-old daughter," Webster said. "If something like that was to happen, I sure hope somebody would stand by my side and acknowledge my daughter."

Since Coralrose's death, the Fullwood family has been splintered. Ellen-Beth and Dale Fullwood's four youngest children were taken by state Department of Children and Families officials. A court placed the children in the care of their grandparents in Fort Myers.

Meanwhile, Dale Fullwood is facing two possession of child pornography charges after investigators say they discovered two videos downloaded on his computer. He is being held in the Sarasota County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Webster said she was not certain whether Ellen-Beth Fullwood will be at the vigil. The children's mother, who has moved back into the Calabash Lane home, has refused all interview requests.

Webster said she befriended Ellen-Beth Fullwood in the days following her husband's arrest on Oct. 11.

"She's hurting," Webster said. "She's hurting bad."

Already, the North Port community has honored Coralrose by creating a memorial of stuffed animals, framed poems, flowers and balloons. The memorial at first was placed at the crime scene where Coralrose was discovered. It was later moved to the front lawn of the family's home. Webster said she put the memorial inside a tent to protect it from the weather.

Webster said she's hoping to find a coral-colored rose bush to donate to the family. Coralrose's favorite song, "Dancing Queen," will be played as part of the ceremony. Poems will also be read in her memory, Webster said.

"If you live in a community that can't come together, that doesn't say much for the community," Webster said.

Fullwood custody hearing set today

A motion to withdraw custody hearing is set for 10 a.m. today in the dependency case involving Dale Fullwood, the father of Coralrose Fullwood.

The 6-year-old girl was found dead in the woods on Sept. 17 and her father, Dale, was arrested a few weeks later on child pornography charges in a separate case. Dale and his wife, Ellen-Beth’s four other children, are in the care of their grandparents who live in Fort Myers.

Attorneys from the Department of Children & Families and guardian ad Litem are set to be at the hearing. Circuit Judge Rick DeFuria, who awarded custody of the children to the mother’s parents, will preside.

Thanks so much, River Rat, for keeping us all current on this situation. It is one that has grabbed my heart. I would very much like to know the mother's reaction to her husband's arrest. I cannot imagine being in her situation. How awful it must be for her to be all alone in that house!!!

Coralrose's parents to have separate attorneys in custody case

SARASOTA -- The parents of slain North Port girl Coralrose Fullwood will have separate attorneys in the custody battle with the state over their four youngest children.

Dale Fullwood, father of the 6-year-old who was found dead in a wooded lot two blocks from her North Port home on Sept. 17, was jailed two weeks ago on two charges of possession of child pornography. He is being held on $50,000 bail.

Judge Rick DeFuria appointed Fullwood a new attorney Wednesday morning. The state removed the children from the Fullwoods' custody shortly after Coralrose’s body was found. The children, ages 4 to 12, were placed with their grandparents in Fort Myers.

An arraignment hearing, in which DCF officials will formally present all of the allegations against the Fullwoods, was scheduled for Nov. 29.

It will be interesting to see how this works out. How on earth could a judge grant any custody to a father who just one day before his 6yr old daughter is found murdered had tired to delete child pornogrophy from his computer? :doh:

I hope you are right about the judge not granting any custody to the father. That's just common sense, but we have seen some strange things out of judges.

Frankly, I don't really understand why the father is even trying at this point unless he is required to be there.

I think it is only right that Coralrose's mother have her own attorney and try to separate her case from the father's. I fully expected a decision to be made today since the house is clean and the father in jail but I guess we will have to wait to learn the outcome.

Hmmmm, in the Ramsey homicide, the parents also each had their own lawyer/s.........so you might be able to guess where my thoughts are leading......however, as long as I am playing messenger here with the local reports........I don't wanna get shot! :truce:

I can't imagine Mrs. Fullwood staying in that house alone much less cleaning it up to try and get the other kids back there. For all the she knows, some maniac is out there and knows her every move. It was only rent to own, and surely another housing location would be better for the children's safety. Personally, I hope that the kids are kept with the Grandparents because all this seems fishy. It really is sort of like a lower class Ramsey experience.
