Pregnant woman's desperate appeal after her mother goes missing

A Pilates instructor who is nine-months pregnant with her first child has launched a desperate appeal to find her mother after she mysteriously vanished overseas.

American expat April Grillo, who lives in Perth should be preparing to celebrate the happiest moment of her life as she counts down the days until her son's birth.

Instead, she has spent the past few weeks sick with worry, hoping her mother Cynthia Maria Hoover will be found safe on the other side of the world.

Ms Hoover, 60, was last seen on March 8th at 2.30pm in Milton, in northwest Florida, before concerned relatives reported her missing seven days later after being unable to contact her.

Her car was found two days later, ransacked.

Family desperate for help after missing Florida woman’s car found abandoned, ransacked

As WEAR-TV reports, the 60-year-old woman has not been seen since early March. A concerned relative reported her missing on March 15, after they could not reach Hoover, who relatives say normally keeps in regular contact with her family. According to the news station, Hoover also did not show up to work–without notifying her co-workers–which is highly unusual. Cooper’s daughter is reportedly now nine months pregnant, and the missing woman’s family says Cooper was excited to become a grandmother.

The WEAR-TV report indicates that Hoover may have been missing for up to 10 days by the time the missing persons investigation began. There are conflicting reports of when she was last seen, with several reporting she was last seen on March 5; a more recent report says it was March 8. Because of a medical condition, Hoover is considered endangered. In a discouraging development, investigators reportedly found that Hoover’s abandoned car had been towed from I-10 in Milton on March 10. According to the report, the car was ransacked and Hoover’s keys and driver’s license were left behind. The report does not indicate whether investigators have found Hoover’s phone, which has reportedly been going straight to voicemail, or if police believe the missing woman has her phone with her.

Ms Hoover was last seen by family at an address on Lakeside Drive on March 8 before leaving to pay a bill a six minute drive away, but it remains unclear whether or not she arrived.

Her Jeep was towed away two days later on March 10 after being located by the road, but investigators are still trying to piece together how long it had been there.

I guess the question with her car which was located: did Cynthia drive it there, or someone else? Her keys were found with the car, so either could have happened. The ransacking, too, could have been done by Cynthia, a perpetrator, or an opportunist who happened upon the car after the fact.

If she reportedly had been on her way to pay a bill, did she have a lot of cash on her in order to pay it, and someone knew it and attacked her in some way to get it?

I’m sure they will check her car for fingerprints, etc and camera footage for the highway it was found on, so I hope it will lead to clues.

Just thinking.

Prayer vigil held at Riverwalk for missing Milton woman, Cynthia Hoover

April 8
Santa Rosa County investigators are still looking for a 60-year-old mother who was last seen in Milton exactly one month ago.

On Thursday night, several dozen friends and family of Hoover gathered for a vigil, praying that she will make it home alive.

You can see Hoover on t-shirts, missing persons posters and even a billboard.

Yet, her loved ones just want to hug her again, in person.

Missing since March. Looks like she might have been found, although not confirmed positively. Wonder what the motive was?

There is a Missing page for her on FB but it’s private. Not sure how that is helpful. The personal FB page only shows a photo of her. No activity since last year.
