Then why don't they have the gun yet?!?! Interesting.

"At today’s hearing, Deputy Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman said Rivera had told investigators where the murder weapon is located, but it has not yet been recovered. Cappleman also named Garcia as the triggerman in Markel’s murder."

Maybe they just found out today and haven't gone and gotten it yet.

Any guesses when the next arrest(s) will come?

Does the timing of KM's arrest coincide with this plea coming down? Did they want her in custody when the plea was announced so they could turn the pressure up on her?

Depending on how much info Rivera is providing, is her testimony essential now? Maybe not.

It still doesn’t seem like a slam-dunk against the A’s without KM’s testimony.
Prosecution is likely willing to bargain with KM so the A’s can then be brought to justice more efficiently.
I think the A’s rank high in the EVIL category.

I'm thinking that the redacted portion of KM's arrest affidavit contains the anticipated testimony from Rivera. They needed her in custody before the deal went public.

Also, Charlie's attorney has already come out with the boilerplate retort to today's happenings:

Charlie Adelson's attorney said the deal with Rivera and attempt to elicit any information from a desperate man facing life in prison.
"The prosecution admittedly didn't have enough evidence so it went out and bought some by giving away the farm to a murderer. This convicted gangster knows the game and would have said anything not to come out of prison in a box," said David Oscar Markus in a statement. "Seven years is just offensive. The prosecution literally threatened him with the needle to get this testimony. That's not a search for the truth. That's a deal with the devil.

possible it cant be recovered (maybe thrown in the ocean and has drifted away along the ocean floor)

According to this, Rivera's plea included an agreement to testify against SG and KM. Maybe KM will be offered a deal to testify against the Adelsons.

Yes, LR seems too far removed from the As. They need KM or SG. Preferably KM.
Speculation, JMO.

Maybe the gun was moved with the furniture that SG seemed so concerned with as per his jail calls to KM, imo, speculation.

So glad to hear this news, congrats to LE.

I know Rivera participated and aided the crime, but I don't think he was as primary as the others: the actual shooter, the organizer and collector of the payments, and the instigators who set it all in motion and who really wanted to kill their own (ex) son-in-law. Rivera's going to be in jail for a good long time.

I think KM will take a deal to pass blame onto the A's. Garcia, having pulled the trigger, I think LE will be less willing to deal with him, but his defense strategy will be interesting.

Interesting that the prosecutor admitted that they could not have charged KM without LR's cooperation/testimony.

Hopefully they'll be saying the same about KM with regard to the Adelsons.

1:20 Luis Rivera says “yes sir” to judge in court

2:34 Interview with SA Willie Meggs:
Reporter: Did Mr Rivera implicate anyone else in this crime?
Meggs: He was only able to implicate his co-defendant Garcia and Katie Magbanua.

If this is the case, then a deal with Katie will be next.

I'm wondering how Garcia fits in with all of this. Hopefully there's more to the plea than him simply pointing the finger at Garcia.
I'm not sure Garcia is.......with it.
I have a feeling he's handling this the way he "handled" the guy asking DA for more money. He told KM he'd handle it and he didn't. Just like going through 3 different attorneys hoping to bond out. I'm not sure he's in the here and now.

And who is Mike Perez? A friend, a cohort? He seemed knowledgeable about both KM and SG and their situations with the feds (in Miami). I wonder if anyone (LE) spoke to him?
