There definitely going to go after CA just to show the public the system is fair. IMO. KM could walk by the weekend and CA could be tried, convicted and sentenced to death.
12 different minds will be deliberating his fate. Strange system we have here in the good ole' USA .

I would dearly love to see CA arrested, convicted, and then spend the rest of his life in prison (a fate I consider worse than death). that said, I would urge others who share this preference to temper expectations. As explained in the OMBD podcast, the TPD thought they had probable cause to arrest CA, but the local state's attorney office disagreed. THere's been no new bombshell evidence implicating CA in the trial so if KM were acquitted of conspiring to kill Dan, it's hard to see how the case against CA wouldn't be significantly weaker. His lawyer could argue that a jury considered and dismissed criminal charges against the person CA is accused of conspiring with. This is yet another reason to root for KM's conviction: it keeps the case against CA (and DA) alive.

"Wednesday, the final day of testimony, was Yom Kippur, a day of atonement and the most important Jewish holiday of the year. It was also the devout Markel’s birthday. He would have turned 47.

Charlie Adelson has naturally stayed far away from the trial. He was missing, too, from Markel’s memorial service in July 2014, which was attended by Wendi Adelson and her parents.

‘It depends on the day’
Charlie Adelson, 42, grew up comfortably in Coral Springs.

His father, Harvey, is a successful dentist. His mother, Donna, is a teacher who stopped working to raise her family. Growing up, Charlie was a tennis star at J.P. Taravella High School. He attended the University of Central Florida and, in 2003, graduated from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Dental Medicine. He joined his father’s practice and now works at an office in Tamarac.

Adelson worked long hours and went on medical missions to Jamaica. On the side, he displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, running a New York-style Jewish deli in Tamarac with a childhood friend and starting up a South Beach consulting firm and a company called Energy Shots LLC. He became a residential landlord, amassing enough wealth that by 2015 he could pay $790,000 for a 10-unit apartment building in Fort Lauderdale.

In his free time, Adelson dated often but usually not for very long. In her testimony to police, Wendi described meeting her brother’s “many, many girlfriends.” Adelson is now the father of a child — and the target of a paternity suit in Broward County. Asked if Charlie was still together with the mother, Wendi answered: “It depends on the day.” His cars were just as fast as his relationships. He drove a Mercedes and a Ferrari, Wendi said."

In an alternative universe somewhere, Wendi* glances across the room at her family and thinks for a split-second, my family ruined me. Similatnouly, Sigfredo glances over at Katie and thinks, I'm in love with a monster who destroyed me.

*For Wendi's fans, as I never attributed this "unfortunate bystander" persona to her. Look at the whole picture as it is now.

MOO

I'm a little disappointed with how GC's opening has gone so far. Especially the start of it. She should've practiced her closing with the tech prior to now. I think she seemed unprepared and flustered starting out. In such a complicated case, I feel like it's important to make her arguments concise (like someone else in here said). She shoud've had it all set up and ready to go. Not a great start. JMO.

Perhaps, but the details speak for themselves, ie DA's comments about WA being a good actress, CA's comments about taking a pic of the kids dressed as Nazis, omg, on and on, just sickening.
GC just the messenger, albeit an attractive and nicely attired one- of very bad and repulsive news, not an easy start to the morning. imo, speculation.

GC: I don't know I can't remember

Wow! She's being very flip and almost like she's over it! Very disappointing.

Could walk...meaning possible but improbable. I think she is toast. She has lost all credibility as a witness moving forward and may be rewarded or all ready has been for her silence. The State is going to have to go with what they have or no Justice for the Markel family. They should try CA right in downtown Miami with the evidence they have on hand and the Attorney General presenting the case instead of the underlings. This is where this poisonous evil plan was hatched in the first place!

This isn't exactly like the closing arguments in the movies, but hopefully, it's forcing the jury to think through things logically rather than emotionally. I imagine the defense is going to be more passionate and polished, but I hope that doesn't sway anyone given the considerable evidence against KM/SG.

Listening to KM's grating voice on the phone and wondering why on earth CA would have ever been attracted to that- also hard to believe anyone would want to tip her well for bottle service?
Those chest enhancements are not all that spectacular, they just make her look lumpy and dumpy in her jail house wardrobe, imo.

The jury has walked in. Closings will start soon. And there's a big chance we'll have a verdict before the weekend. #MarkelMurderTrialWTXL @abc27

Judge reading some jury instructions right now, jurors reading along on their own copies @WCTV

Jada E. Williams‏ @JadaEWilliams 2h2 hours ago
Judge Hankinson is reading jury instructions now. He and the attorneys went over them after the jury was dismissed yesterday. #MarkelMurderTrialWTXL @abc27

Jada E. Williams‏ @JadaEWilliams 2h2 hours ago
Four verdict choices for Garcia: guilty of first degree, guilty of second degree, guilty of lesser manslaughter, or not guilty. There's also his conspiracy count and solicitation count. #MarkelMurderTrialWTXL @abc27

Jada E. Williams‏ @JadaEWilliams 2h2 hours ago
Magbanua's choices are the same, except there are no interrogatories. Although they were tried together, they jury must consider the two separately. #MarkelMurderTrialWTXL @abc27

Judge tells jury though the defendants were tried together, they must consider the evidence against each one separately and verdicts must be unanimous @WCTV

Judge Hankinson: "Your duty is to decide whether the defendants have been proven innocent or guilty in accordance with the law"

The verdict must be unanimous

And jurors must consider Garcia and Magbanua separately despite them being tried together

I guess GC won't be doing rebuttal. She used up all her time.

Get ready for the s***show from defense! It will def be more entertaining so I'm actually looking forward to it. lol.

GC got better towards the end but I think she should've rehearsed the heck out of her closing and kept it tight. She should've had it memorized! Made more eye contact with the jury and shown more conviction. But I guess that's not her style. Not everyone has that IT factor in public speaking.

Hello all. Just registered and appreciate finding this community. I found GC's closing to be quite effective. I would have preferred seeing more cross of KM yesterday -- particularly pressing her on the "code-talking" -- but today I believe she's focused on the important evidence and I fully expect convictions murder 1 for both defendants.

I thought Cappleman did a good job wrapping up the cell phone stuff which clearly puts KM squarely with SG and LR, even at the time of the car rental (that she said she wasn't at). She went a little long, though.

I'm not understanding why everyone's saying the State won't be able to use her now to go after CA.

I think she has about 10 minutes left--ETA, maybe 15
