Get ready for the s***show from defense! It will def be more entertaining so I'm actually looking forward to it. lol.

GC got better towards the end but I think she should've rehearsed the heck out of her closing and kept it tight. She should've had it memorized! Made more eye contact with the jury and shown more conviction. But I guess that's not her style. Not everyone has that IT factor in public speaking.

Did she use ALL of it? I think she has at least 5-10 minutes left, which is enough to make some solid points.

I thought Cappleman did a good job wrapping up the cell phone stuff which clearly puts KM squarely with SG and LR, even at the time of the car rental (that she said she wasn't at). She went a little long, though.

I'm not understanding why everyone's saying the State won't be able to use her now to go after CA.

While, technically, the State could make a deal and use her, the conventional wisdom is that she has ruined her credibility by now testifying under oath of having no knowledge. She would be impeached severely if she ever did take the stand and most prosecutors will not deal with a defendant who takes the stand and denies under oath the important elements of the crime or knowledge of it.

Hello all. Just registered and appreciate finding this community. I found GC's closing to be quite effective. I would have preferred seeing more cross of KM yesterday -- particularly pressing her on the "code-talking" -- but today I believe she's focused on the important evidence and I fully expect convictions murder 1 for both defendants.

Welcome! I agree. I only caught the last 30 minutes but I felt she was very affective and if I were on that jury I would appreciate her calm demeanor and how she laid out all the facts. There were some things she could have rehearsed, but all and all - effective I think. Contrast that to what we are hearing now. I can barely listen. I feel like Mr Z is screaming at me and he’s off putting and just coming off sleazy, throwing out stuff that doesn’t make sense compared to the evidence.

Even if your client is not the shooter he's guilty of first degree murder based on the principal rule. Either way, he was there and whether he did the shooting or Rivera did the shooting both are guilty of 1st degree murder. How is Zangeneh going to get around that rule?

Wow! She's being very flip and almost like she's over it! Very disappointing.

The state attorney, GC, is unable to read properly her prepared closing arguments. She mumbled towards the end of every sentence. It appears she was not involved with preparing the slides. The slides do not illustrate what she was reading. The dichotomy between her mumbling and the importance of what is being said is heart breaking. It were as if she attempts to soften the stance of the State towards the accused criminals.
But, why?

You don't need to be a law professor or forensic expert to recognize how weak Zangeneh's closing is. However, you can only work with the cards you are dealt and you have to ask yourself what you'd do if in his place. This is pretty much the only game he has to play.
