For years, the victim whose remains were discovered on May 2, 1990 in a drainage ditch near Daytona Beach was known only as John Doe. There was no personal identification on the body, nor any clues to how the victim died.

The prints came back to Richard Ryan, who was born in 1949 and would have been 40-years-old at the time of his death. Ryan's family, including a son in California and a daughter in Tennessee, were recently informed about the findings.
