Robert Carter II has been charged in the murder of Deanna Shirey.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation presented arrest warrants on Robert Carter II for the offenses of malice murder and concealing the death of another regarding the murder of Deanna Shirey.

Missing from the timeline is that LE, with K9s and drones, missed finding her body on July 6 on Carter's property. One week later on July 13, that's where they found her body. Befuddling that they missed it ONE WEEK prior, using humans, K9s and drones.

Police say it wasn’t until receiving a citizen’s tip last night that they returned to search a second time, finding Shirey soon after. All they can tell us is that she was outside on Carter’s property, within 50 feet of his home.

They say the area was very camouflaged, hidden with grass around it. Shirey seemed to have been there for quite some time and her missing comforter was found near her body.
