September 2015:

A South Florida man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the disappearance and death of his infant son.

A Broward County judge sentenced 30-year-old Calvin Melvin on Friday. As part of a deal with prosecutors, Melvin pleaded no contest last month to three counts of giving false information to law enforcement officials. He had been facing child neglect charges.

Well there's the motive right there! Dontrell wasn't biologically his.
Can't believe he only got 10 years.. What a joke! In a way he was rewarded for hiding his child's dead body because they couldn't prove the cause of death.

Life has gone on as normal for Brittney and Renee. Nothing is ever mentioned about Dontrell. And I see that Brittney has had ANOTHER baby! A beautiful little girl. Brittney still posts selfies of herself, her nails and her tattoos. She's been engaged to a couple of different men and in relationships with a few more but is apparently single now. If only she put in as much effort for her children as she does for herself and her men, they may have actually had a chance at a normal life.

Court tosses prison sentence for man who lied about dead baby

"Calvin Melvin lied to investigators about the disappearance of his baby boy, who was found dead days later in January 2013. But he didn’t deserve to go to prison for it, an appeals court ruled Wednesday.

Dontrell Melvin’s body was found buried in the backyard of the home his father and mother shared when he was last seen alive, 18 months earlier.

No one was ever charged in the 5-month-old boy’s death, but Melvin, 32, pled guilty in 2015 for misleading detectives who were looking for the missing child. Then-Broward Circuit Judge Matthew Destry sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

That, the Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled, was a mistake...."
