On June 4, 2024, HCSO was notified of an incident involving an eight-year-old confidential victim and Douglas McGee, 34, a family friend and the supervisor of the victim's brother at Busch Gardens.

............McGee provided the victim with a cell phone and engaged in inappropriate messaging.

McGee was employed as a part-time Park Quality Supervisor in Stanleyville at Busch Gardens at the time of the incident and arrest. He has been employed with Busch Gardens since December of 2021.

That is so disgusting! It literally reads as the profile of a pedophile - always around children (in swimsuits!). I feel worried about the amount of potential other victims. So much forethought too - buying the 8 yo a phone! Kudos to the brother who put a stop to all of this.

Yes, exactly and some of those jobs were in Virginia too! OMG the number of children he had access to is mind boggling. I sure hope the children are brave enough to speak up. I hope LE reaches out to all prior employers, and those employers, send a letter to all parents. Please talk to your children!

As someone that is close with the victim's family I wanted to come on here and post an update. After some hearing delays due to hurricanes, at the most recent hearing last week the defense is still awaiting all of the evidence to be shared with them. The public defender asked for 364 days county jail. The Assistant State Attorney literally laughed at her.

We are all hoping that this will start to wrap up in the courts over the next couple of months. No one wants the victim to have to testify or be cross examined. Many recorded statements and exams were done in the first few days. This child is growing stronger by the day with therapy and family. Everyone from the initial detectives the first day through the ASA have been great along the way.

Unfortunately Deputies were able to find him before the rest of us that were looking for him.
