FL - Father and Neighbor beat molester of 3 yr old

  • #21
Generally speaking, it is human nature to protect ourselves and our young. Just a fact. I can understand this father's pain. He is a man put in a very difficult position. He was unable to protect his child for whatever reason at the moment his child suffered harm, BUT, I'm sure he felt he could protect his child from any future harm by eliminating that thing that harmed his child. Human Instinct. Now, though, we tell him he can't do that - he can't protect his child, he must let the court do it for him. (This is just me storytelling) So... he calls LE. Not enough evidence to pick the guy up or charge him. Guy's word against the kid's and no physical evidence. LE can't do anything about it. So sorry.

Too frustrating. I don't condone what the father did, mostly because this father needs to stay in his child's life and he can't do that from prison. But, I do not think less of this father either. In my opinion, the father did not lower himself to the level of the criminal 🤬🤬🤬. The father acted like a normal human being that loves his child. The father acted humanly and instinctively. I don't see that as a bad thing, myself. Again, I don't condone his actions, but I don't look down on him either - in fact I applaud his humaness.

Well, I'm glad he lived so that the father won't be charged with murder. Hopefully, the justice system will do its job this time and get (and keep) the SO off the street.

I don't know when we are going to realize that our justice system is F'ed up. Why would a country with a "civilized" society continue to put pedophiles on the street? Do we really think they will never harm another child? How can we expect people to keep putting up with this? Come on. This is ridiculous. I'm sick of it. I wish that father could sue our lawmakers and the judges who allowed this loser out on the street to molest yet another child. How stupid can they be. People serve more time for welfare fraud than raping a child. How f'ed up is that?

I hope the justice system shows appropriate mercy to this father in his "humanity", and JUSTICE for the disgusting pedophile who deserved much worse than what he got from the father, and much more than he will get from our (primarily) humane justice system.

I wonder if vigilante justice is really the deterrent we imagine it would be. I really don't know. Our current justice system is no deterrent, that's obvious. It cannot possibly be, and still maintain it's true sense of justice and mercy.

Vigilante justice is swift and immediate and REALLY REALLY personal :D . It seems as if it would be a big deterrent! But we'd need a heck of a scientific study to determine if it is, for sure.

Don't invite your favorite guy from the homeless shelter to come over and just because he's so very nice to you - questions everything. Is he so nice to you to get next to you, your kids?

People are just too trusting of strays anymore. Bad rap for the homeless but geez.
I agree, that's exactly how Elizabeth Smart was taken, her mom had invited the creep home to help the dad on a handyman job. It does sound heartless, but it's not even against the homeless, I don't invite anyone I don't personally know into my home and even with handymen that I call to fix something, I always make sure my husband is there with me.

Easy fix. Put child molesters, abusers, and murderers in with general population in jail/prison. In no way should they get special treatment. If they were so concerned about THEIR rights, THEIR feelings, and THEIR rights, they shouldn't have messed with a kid!

Well it was lawfully the wrong thing to do, but I think most fathers will relate, some dads would have made sure he was dead if this happened to their son. It may be hard to get a conviction against the father and neighbor because many jurors will relate and understand their emotions and anger at the time.

I agree with most you say, a pedophile is a serious sort of disease that cant be cured. Its tricky trying to figure out how to lawfully treat them. Westley Allan Dodd said sex offenders couldnt be stopped and that he would rape and kill again if given the chance. He changed his tune after being locked up for many years and "finding jesus," but that was also before he was to be executed.

I'd like to volunteer for the study...I have a baseball bat and lots of free time;) Just start pointing them out

It's pathetic that the sentence for beating the carp out of a grown man will get you 15 years to life while molesting a baby will get you 5.

Not just the homeless. People, especially with small children, should really be careful about inviting anyone they don't know and trust into their home.

I totally understand this Dads actions. Until victims have as many rights as offenders, there will still be chances and instances of this happening. The judicial system is broken and it's time to fix it and protect our children.

Very true....but the fact remains....most children are molested by someone they know and the family trusts.....oftentimes...it's by family!

I for one, would have been charged with murder...if this was my child.

It was on our local radio and Bubba TLS is having his attorney KH, one of the best criminal attnys in the state work pro bono for these two men.

You can disagree with me all you want but I am glad this little boy's daddy kicked the perps azz. Maybe this weirdo will stop himself before touching another child. I would like to see more of this actually. Maybe if these freaks got an azzbeating they wouldn't slip and slide through the system and be free to molest other kids. I am a woman but if this had happened to my little boy I can tell you for certain that I would be carrying a shotgun and would use it -- even knowing I would end up in jail for killing someone.

Please remember that pedophiles look no different than we do. Of course, there are some scary creeps out there like PG, but the vast majority of child abusers are your neighbor, your coach, your pastor, the teller at the bank, the babysitter. That's the horror of it all.

I challenge anyone to spend some time looking at mugshots without knowing what the person has been arrested for. I'm constantly shocked to learn that the nice looking guy, who looks like someone my bright and educated adult daughter might have dinner with, was just arrested for multiple counts of sex abuse of a child. They often have nice smiles, gentle eyes, and a warm demeanor. How do you think they draw in the little kids? The really scary guys like PG have to snatch their victims.

We didn't invite the rapist who hurt our children into our home. You know why? This will floor everyone probably. We didn't feel entirely comfortable with him. He seemed a little odd but our kids loved him. He was almost ten years older than some of them but spent hours playing with them at their level. He brought them forbidden sweets and toys and won their trust.

We weren't the only ones duped. He wormed his way into working at our local elementary school. He was sooo helpful and even volunteered to escort little boys to the restroom. At least three rapes occurred in that restroom!!

So, what is there to learn here? Trust your gut feelings!!!! I can't repeat that enough. If anyone--no matter what their station in life or job or place in your family--gives you unusual vibes, don't be afraid to pull your children away. I can't tell you how many people told us after the fact that the rapist's arrest didn't surprise them. He'd been on lots of parents' and teachers' radar for years. We just happened to buy a house right next door to him with a houseful of special needs kids who were hungry for playmates. Talk about a perfect storm.

I've read and thought over each of the bold and brazen statements made by people on this thread. I believe you when you say that the perp would be dead if he hurt your child. It's not that cut and dried, though. When a child discloses abuse, the parent is brought to their knees. We are also traumatized and often overwhelmed with grief and guilt. Our first thought is to pull the hurt child close and to protect them. That's the exact moment that LE is leading away the perp. By the time most of us go into the "rage mode", the perp is well out of our reach. A construct of modern society, most likely, as there are far less lynchings that way. And in all truthfulness, we should be saved from acting on our basest emotions. We'll be needed down the line.

Our system sucks! When it comes to vigilante justice for child molesters, i'm all for it! Let the perverts be scared. Maybe then they'll think twice before they molest a child if they know they will get beat down.
Our revolving door prison policy and short sentences for them don't work. They can't cure them, they reoffend.
Certain levels of SO's will be most likely to reoffend and those are the ones that need to get beat up the most. I don't want to lump all SO's together and say beat up the guy that peed in the alleyway, you know?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida father took a plea in court after he was accused of beating a man who allegedly molested his son.

Manuel Vega appeared in Broward County Court Tuesday and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and received four years probation. Vega and his neighbor, Krish Carter, are accused of chasing and pummeling Luke Petruschke, who was a guest at Vega's home, after his 3-year-old son said Petruschke had sexually assaulted him twice.
