those claims that he was posting on middle eastern pro-jihad ISIS websites since 2007 have made it to the MSM but strangely nobody seems to want to discuss them...

[h=1]Airport shooter was a 'regular kid,' quiet, serious and fascinated with zombies, Army buddy says[/h]
In his combat unit in Iraq, soldiers called Esteban Santiago "Chago Zombie" - a combination of a common Latin nickname and a nod to his favorite topic of conversation.

"He talked a lot about zombies. He talked only that..he talked about how to kill the zombies," said Luis Ortiz-Sanchez, who served with Santiago in the Puerto Rico National Guard and deployed to Iraq with him. He was "a regular kid" who liked photography. "He spent a lot of money on cameras." And he played a lot of video games involving zombies.

A doctor had told him he may have schizophrenia, a serious mental illness which can strike in young adulthood. A hallmark is auditory hallucinations.

I agree it's how the system works. I'm just saying it should have been a huge red flag.

IIUC, his visit to FBI ofc was treated as a huge red flag which is why they interviewed him, checked w other sources/people, and encouraged him to vol-psych hosp admission, and he had med/psych examination, and apparently was found not to be a danger to self or others, therefore was discharged.

Is it poss -
-
doctor wrote him Rx(s) & referred him to other med treatment? Imo, yes. Did doc refer? IDK.
- he tried to get further med & psych help and had no ins, could not get apptmts, not afford/pay co-pay, etc? IDK.
- he tried to get help from VA but got nowhere? IDK.

Is it also poss-
he told fam, friends, ppl that he tried to get mental health help but in fact did not try? IDK, but poss, imo.

Many MSM reports say countless US vets are not able to get all the med/psych help they need. Did he try? IDK.

Sad, sad, sad, for all involved.

He was evaluated in a mental hospital----he was not found to be a danger to himself or others. He was allowed to leave, and retrieve his weapon.

So I am not sure that we can label him as all that 'mentally ill. '

He then flew to Fl and killed people he didn't even know. Whoever evaluated him and decided he wasn't a danger to himself or others didn't appear to know what they were doing. Cause clearly he was a danger to others.

Chose! Ok. A mentally ill man " chose". No words

What in the world makes you think mentally ill can't chose? Lots of people have mental illness. They chose every day what to do.
Mental illness isn't the same as legal insanity.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS12) — A Broward County Sheriff's Office Deputy has been suspended in connection with TMZ leaked video of the Ft. Lauderdale Airport attack, according to CBS Miami.

Deputy Michael Dingman, 46, who is based at the Fort Lauderdale airport, was suspended with pay on Tuesday. He has been a Broward deputy for 21 years.

As this has marinated it really is rather nauseating.

They saw his reflection in his phone, not really sure what there is to "investigate"?

anyone?

As KTUU first reported, Santiago worked for a local franchise of Signal 88 Security.

A former co-worker, who says Santiago helped train him in 2015, described the job as late-night patrols of businesses and parking lots across the city.

“(Santiago) and I would just chill after work,” James Foster said. “If I needed help on a security job … like there’s vagrants that wouldn’t leave or were causing trouble. I’d call him lots of times and say, ‘Hey, could you come back me up?”
Alaska state law says, “A person may not be employed as a security guard or security guard agency until the person has obtained a license from the commissioner of public safety.”

t is unclear if Santiago obtained the state license. Foster said he was not required to do so when he was hired.

A person who hears voices? Where on earth is the compassion for people who are struggling? I am talking about before he killed.

No words.

Whether people believe his expetience in the military contibuted to his issues or not, it is beyond shameful that he could not get the help he was begging for. He served.

I see people thanking soldiers for their service. Ok. How about providing care in addition to a verbal thanks.

And maybe not doubt their claims of ptsd after losing beloved squad members because of personal anecdotal experiences!

Do agree he should have never been allowed access to a gun though. If u show up at the FBI and say crazy stuff that should be a red flag right there.

'MURICA

Can't take away someone's "rights" to a gun. They could have suspended his driver's license easily, but there's no taking a man's guns unless he's actually convicted of a violent felony first.

A person who hears voices? Where on earth is the compassion for people who are struggling? I am talking about before he killed.

No words.

Maybe the mentally ill should choose not to suffer. -_-

PTSD affects hundreds of thousands of people who have been exposed to violent events such as rape, domestic violence, child abuse, war, accidents, natural disasters and political torture. It is normal to be affected by trauma

Symptoms may come on soon after the trauma or fifty years later.

experienced or confronted with an event that involved actual or threatened injury, or a threat to their physical integrity.

significant distress or impairment by the event, either in their social occupational or other important areas of functioning.

He got fired, he is strangling his griend, ( irritability or outbursts of anger; ) and is starting to have legal troubles, and for all practical purposes is living on a cot in a 8x 10 room. Clearly something was occurring prior to this.

https://www.thestar.com/opinion/com...do-we-coddle-violent-abusive-men-mallick.html
Domestic violence is often the precursor to extreme violence. The most dangerous time is when women prepare to leave or have left these fragile, angry hateful men. Do police know this?

Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, who killed 86 people on the Nice promenade, beat his wife and his mother-in-law and regularly had violent outbursts, reports Huffington Post. Why was he free?
Omar Mateen of Orlando beat his wife before he committed the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Tamerlan Tsarnaev had been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend before the Boston bombing? Other mass killers had restraining orders, Peeping Tom arrests, and even faced charges of murdering their wives.
In the hierarchy of worth, men tend to rate women lowest yet cannot bear rejection by these base creatures. Though the Fort Lauderdale Airport alleged killer had been arrested twice for domestic violence, he was not prosecuted and jailed. After he was held by the FBI in Alaska and appeared deranged, he was released and given back his gun.

I think there is confusion regarding the ability to "plan" as indicating that no serious issues are happening to ones brain. Depends on the flavor of the illness.

Psychosis can be differnt than paranoid delusions. The CIA planting items is ones computer is clearly paranoid. So much so , that felt he needed to contact the FBI to get help. His contact with them was not to get mental helath treatment. It was thinking the FBI could stop the Cia from harming him.

All of us are clearly confident that the Cia was not planting things in his computer. The delusion was so powerful that he felt the only way he could get this to stop was to see the FBI.

That in and of itself IMO indicates how real , TO HIM this was .

IMO< It can be helpful to understand that delusions are not "crazy" in the traditional sense of the word.

James Holmes was severally ill. He believed he was the Joker He was able to plan for months procuring all the things needed that night, including hair dye.He rigged his apt in such a way that it took the Federal B o Investigation 4 days to figure how sophisticated it was .It does not negate mental illness - it illustrates how potent delusions are.

Planned parent hood beleived he was saving bablies.

Dahmer believed that dead people were "staying" with him.

Son of same he joined the U.S. Army and served in the United States and South Korea.[SUP][16][/SUP][SUP][17][/SUP] After an honorable discharge in 1974, he located his birth mother, Betty. After a few visits, she disclosed the details of his illegitimate birth. The news greatly disturbed Berkowitz.....fast forward he ended up sorting letters at a post office. Clearly, just like this guy deteriorated.

When you are in a war I do not think you pack a suitcase to go out on a mission. You bring your gun, your military ID, and make plans to get to the war zone (booking flight).

It is your duty. .

I believe this kid felt as if he been assigned a mission and was carrying out his orders.

All moo only

The dearth of details about the investigation and of Santiago’s past has created an information void that has fueled rumors. Among them: that Santiago created an Arabic name when he was 17 and became a radicalized terrorist who posted emails, video propaganda and Muslim songs on Jihadi forums.
Federal agents, who have examined Ernesto Santiago’s computer, have not uncovered any tangible evidence that Santiago heeded the voices he claimed he heard.

But FBI agents scrubbing Santiago’s social-media sites have found nothing to indicate he was an Islamic convert inspired by terrorist organizations, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.

“There really has been nothing,” said a source, noting that if anything, evidence thus far shows the opposite: that Santiago planned the assault, acted on his own, flew on a one-way ticket to Fort Lauderdale and chose its airport as a random target.

those claims that he was posting on middle eastern pro-jihad ISIS websites since 2007 have made it to the MSM but strangely nobody seems to want to discuss them...

It might be because there is more telling information in the two or three years before the attack??

These same outlets have "reported" him as muslim when in fact he is Hispanic.
