GUILTY FL - Five teens for video beating of 16yo girl, Highland City, 2008

  • #161
is the bail a cash bail? or can they go to a bonds man?
I would have to listen to the tape again, but I would guess it is cash or bond.

Does anyone know how the tape was revealed in the place? How did it get to the police?

If reports are true, Dr. Phil blows all the adults out of the water.

 Omg, he sure does. I haven't liked Dr. P for a looong time...now I can officially say he can go to hell.
I can't believe he got that little 🤬🤬🤬🤬 out on bail so he could use her thugazz for ratings.
:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:
He'll be receiving a few negative emails about this decision. I finally get it.... he's a money and ratings 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Yeah I can't wait to see what ol' Phil got to say about this. Dr.Phil is a tough cookie but I have watched him tip toe around ''politically'' incorrect issues before..we will see.

He bailed out Mercedes the 🤬🤬🤬🤬. I won't watch his show ever again.

TMZ has received an exclusive statement from a spokesperson for the Dr. Phil show:
Dr. Phil Pulls the Plug on Teen Violence Show

"We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show - assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities. In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re: the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised."

More spin from DP.

More spin is right. I don't believe he was unaware of what his staff was "up to", I mean, come on...

One of the parents said her daughter turned it over, I forget which one..I'll try to find the article I was reading.

I have no idea where Victoria went when they dropped her off. Did she walk home? How? Did she go to the police? Did the police then go to the home the event happened in?

I completely missed all of this if it's out there.

Thanks Philamena, I thought maybe I missed something, but apparently they're not releasing that information yet?

Anyway, I've been trying to find the articles I read earlier today. It was Mercede Nichols mother who said that her daughter shouldn't be charged because she turned the tape over to the police and that she wanted to call the cops but she was too scared. Actually I should say I'm pretty sure she's the one who said that, not 100% sure. I can't find it.

However Garcia, Nichols mother is stating that her daughter turned the tape over.

And:

>>>Victoria Lindsay Attacked by Eight Classmates (NBC)

All have been charged. Some of the girls laughed and joked when they were arrested and asked the police of they would be out in time to make it to cheerleader practice. Others wondered if their detention would be so long it would keep them from going to the beach.

A mother of one of the girls went on television to try and defend the attack and claims that the beating is being blown out of proportion. Mercades Nichols mom Christina Garcia says that her daughter tried to warn Victoria Lindsay. But police say she was the one that lured her to the home.

Nichols doesn't even live with the mother, the same woman that tried to excuse the attack, she lives with her grandmother and that is the home where the attack to place and was filmed. The video is here. Police say they want to make an example of the attackers, especially since they have shown no remorse. <<<

They also say this at your link:

>>>When the 35-minute beating is done, the girl was allegedly forced into a car and dumped at another friend's house.<<<

So now we know where she was dropped off.

>>>If convicted of the battery and false imprisonment charges, the teenagers could be sentenced to up to 10 years each in state prison. The additional kidnapping charge three of the teenagers face could earn another 15 years behind bars.<<<<

This would be delightful.

Thanks for the info on the tape.

I think they just dropped her off on a corner. Too bad Dr. Phil didn't pick her up.

ROFLMAO....I wouldn't rule it out yet JB.

I'm wondering if the herd will attend school while out on bail. I have a feeling they won't get a warm reception.

Damn those gag orders.

They are not allowed to attend that school per judges orders. Part of the bail agreement. They will be out for the rest of the year or they can home school, or find another school that will take them.

ETA: They cannot set foot on the campus or even attend any kind of school related function off campus. This late in the school year will either work for them or against them. They may be able to just test out of their classes or finish them with home projects.

Oh, thanks. And rats too. I was hoping they'd get a little taste of their own medicine.

This case is really bringing out the worst in me.

I am just mad about it. I added an edit to my schoolpost. the judge said they cannot set foot on the campus or go to school related functions off campus.

I cannot stand Dr. Phil or his show. He portrays himself as a nice man, but his driving motivation is fame and ratings.

I actually got told on another forum a long time ago that I must hate Natalee Holloway and must hope she was dead because I said I didn't like Dr. Phil. I will never understand how he gets such rabid supporters.
