GUILTY FL - Five teens for video beating of 16yo girl, Highland City, 2008

Does anyone know when the trial(s) start for these kids?
Not soon enough! :behindbar

Bamabeauty: I have three kids, and my oldest is a girl. We never had money for nice clothes when she was young, so I also shopped thrift stores. Now my daughter buys clothes there because it's fun and she appreciates a bargain. She was never the most perfect girl in her class, but I like to think she had and still has the most friends, and that's what matters. Teach a child how to make friends and get along with people and they don't really need anything else. Teach them that intelligence is just as important and someday they will thank you.

The world needs more Moms who teach their kids not to be self-centered.

My daughter is one year from Law School now, and beauty pageants won't get you there.

Wow Thoughtfox, good for your daughter, you must be so proud of her! :blowkiss:

I know none of us parents are perfect. We all want the best for our kids, and raising them can be a lot of hit and misses. I think it's important for kids to have healthy self-esteme and confidence, but that's entirely different than raising a Paris Hilton. It can be tricky, but figuring it out is so worth it. I want my daughter to believe in herself, so when life throws a few curve balls it won't level her. I raised her to believe in EVERYONE though, INCLUDING herself. So far so good.:)

Initially wasn't he the first one bailed out? or was he just the last one to go in and that's why he was out earlier when everyone else was in jail?

Also, some kid on a message board posted this:

>>>my social psychology teacher who's also a lawyer told me that victoria wrote on myspace about her boyfriend cheating on her with one of her friends. that friend got angry and gathered a bunch of people to beat her up. Victoria was right though. it was true that the boyfriend was cheating on her with one of her friends.<<<

When I met Gloria at Terri Winchell's candlelight vigil I screwed up my courage and when she and my dh arrived, I walked up and said, OMG it's Lisa Bloom's mother. I'm so happy to meet you!! She laughed.

I found out later that when my dh pulled up to the school where the vigil was was being held, he parked in a red zone to let her off. She told him you can't park here, he said I can park anywhere I want I have you with me. She laughed at him and told him she would not get him out of a parking ticket!!

I liked her very much in person.

Dr. Phil's Peeps to Bondsman: We Work for Him!

http://www.tmz.com/2008/04/14/dr-phils-peeps-to-bondsman-we-work-for-him/

Dr. Phil's peeps who posted bail for the Florida girl charged in the videotaped beating were not hiding their affiliation with the show when they posted bail.

Our sources say the production assistant (Mikey) who flaunted his "exclusive" with Mercades Nichols outside court, along with a female producer, went to the bail bondsman and made it clear they were representing the show. They posted $3,300 bail -- 10% of the total amount.

The show claims the producers exceeded their authority. We're guessing Mikey -- who makes around $800 a week -- didn't personally pay that kind of jack.

We've also learned the show did not post collateral for the entire $33,000 -- someone not connected with the show did that.

Good one! (Patting Top on the head) It is OK, Top!

Well, Gloria will sure come in handy in this case when the offers start pouring in for the book deals and film rights! :)
