Cannon's name appears on a document reviewed by ABC News titled "Transition Planning: Legal Principals," which lists potential staffing for the White House counsel's office, the Department of Justice, the FBI, and U.S. attorneys' offices, as well as proposed candidates for the top legal positions within multiple government agencies, should Trump be reelected.

The document was drafted by Trump's top advisers with input from Boris Epshteyn, who oversees Trump's legal team and is one of Trump's most trusted advisers, sources familiar with the matter said.

Anyone surprised? IMO

I'm not surprised in the least. That's the way the game is played. But at the same time, I prefer named sources to anonymous ones.

I think ABC News has seen the list (article by Katherine Faulders, Will Steakin, John Santucci, and Alexander Mallin).

And they have named Boris Epshteyn as one of the the drafters of the list.

Yep- that's the kind of upside down world we are living in, at this time in history. It is depressing.

Sure sounds like something Epshteyn would be involved with.

Plus, if a source requests anonymity, it could be because they're working behind the scenes and don't want their cover blown.

If Trump wins the election, prosecutors will likely have no choice but to withdraw their appeal, according to Friedman Agnifilo, cementing Judge Cannon's dismissal of the case.

If Trump loses the election, the case faces a long road before reaching a trial. Prosecutors need to successfully convince the Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse Cannon's dismissal, and Trump's team has already raised a defense based on presidential immunity, which could become the basis for a future appeal.

Faced with a series of adverse rulings, Smith would also face a key decision about whether to ask for Judge Cannon to be recused from the case .....

What is troubling is how well Trump's legal shenanigans work--- he has not been held accountable for any of the allegations against him regarding the Jan 6 coup or the documents case- and may never be---

The FL attorney general has filed an appeal against Jack Smith's 11th Circuit appeal. And he got the attorneys general from a bunch of other states on board in the filing.
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia.

Interesting list of states.
