A Federal judge on Thursday agreed to reschedule a key early 2024 court date after Donald Trump's attorneys flagged a scheduling conflict in which two hearings were set for the same time on the same day in his Florida and New York criminal cases.

In a one-paragraph order Thursday, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon rescheduled a planned two-day hearing she'd initially set to begin at 10 a.m. on Feb. 15 regarding classified evidence procedures in the criminal case alleging Trump willfully retained sensitive government records after leaving the White House. That hearing will now begin on Feb. 12.

In their motion filed Monday, Trump's attorneys had asked Cannon to reschedule the hearing in light of a separate 10 a.m. Feb. 15 hearing in the New York state business records case.

Mr. Nauta & Mr. de Oliveira conspired to delete footage from security cameras after the Dept. of Justice issued a subpoena asking for surveillance footage of the basement where it said confidential documents were held. In the court documents, Mr. de Oliveira is claimed to have texted another employee who was the director of information technology that "the boss" wanted the server deleted. The documents allege that Mr. de Oliveira later met with the employee in a small IT room, told him their conversation should remain private, then pressured the man into obliging his request after the employee told Mr. de Oliveira that he did not have the authority.

One of former president Donald Trump's current attorneys told special counsel Jack Smith's team that, within days of the Justice Department issuing a subpoena last year for all classified documents at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, she "very clearly" warned Trump that if he failed to fully comply -- but then swore he did -- "it's going to be a crime," according to sources familiar with the matter.

Sources said the lawyer, Jennifer Little, told investigators Trump "absolutely" understood the warning, which came during a pivotal meeting at Mar-a-Lago with Trump and another attorney, Evan Corcoran, who had recently joined Trump's legal team.

What Little allegedly told Smith's team earlier this year may shed further light on how Smith came to accuse Trump of knowingly violating the law, saying in his June 9 indictment against Trump that the former president defied a subpoena by hiding more than 100 classified documents from the FBI and even his own legal team, and then having his legal team certify otherwise.

Co-Conspirator *Carlos de Oliveira (56) has also been indicted & charged (7/27/23) with 1 count each of obstruction of justice, concealing records & documents & 1 count of making false statements to FBI. He is alleged to have asked what could be done to delete the footage. Plead not guilty (8/15/23). $100K Surety bond-out on bond. Judge ruled that, in the meantime, De Oliveira must hand in his expired U.S. passport within 48 hours.
Mr. Nauta & Mr. de Oliveira conspired to delete footage from security cameras after the Dept. of Justice issued a subpoena asking for surveillance footage of the basement where it said confidential documents were held. In the court documents, Mr. de Oliveira is claimed to have texted another employee who was the director of information technology that "the boss" wanted the server deleted. The documents allege that Mr. de Oliveira later met with the employee in a small IT room, told him their conversation should remain private, then pressured the man into obliging his request after the employee told Mr. de Oliveira that he did not have the authority.

Trial set to begin on 5/20/24 with Jury Selection. (trial expected to take 2 weeks). U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon suggested Wednesday, 11/1/23 that she might delay the timeline for court proceedings in Fort Pierce, Fla., noting the upcoming trial in D.C. (on 3/4/24) & requests from Trump’s lawyers to have more time to prepare.

The Electoral College is the key. It’s how he won in 2016, even without winning the popular vote. And it may work in his favor again.
