A former Longwood resident faces nearly 1,000 counts of child after computer discs filled with sexual pictures of young children and toddlers in diapers were found among his possessions, police told Local 6 News.

Longwood police arrested Frederick Gallagher, who now lives in Vero Beach, after his estranged wife said she found the images while cleaning out some of his items.

Police believe they have discovered the origin of most of the images but are still investigating.

A Vero Beach man was sentenced to three years in prison for possessing child . Frederick Gallagher III, 30, pleaded guilty Thursday to 100 counts of possessing the photos. He was arrested by Longwood police 18 months ago, two months after he had separated from his wife. She found the photos on compact discs as she was cleaning the home they had shared. Gallagher was sentenced Thursday by Circuit Judge Donna McIntosh in Sanford. Once he's released from prison, he will be on probation for five years.
