I’m listening off and on to the trial, though I haven’t posted or read in this thread yet.

Just wanted to say how confused I am, that Wendi has never been charged. When clearly she knew about and was involved in the plan to murder Dan? Why is that?
I read somewhere that Wendi's god father is:

"Weinstein is the son of Peter Weinstein, a former chief judge and former state Senator, who also happens to be godfather to Wendi Adelson, Markel’s ex-wife.

Weinstein has appeared on “20/20” and other TV programs defending the Adelson family, saying that he was doing so not as their legal counsel, but as a friend. He would later appear to be listed as Charlie Adelson’s attorney in joint statements made by his family, denying their role in the 2014 murder of Markel. "

Sounds like just one more thing she is trying to control!

Defense is trying to get at least one juror to hang on they don't feel that the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt on first- degree only.
If Adelson's tried to bribe jail house inmates, do we think they did not try to tamper with the jury?

Obviously, they have bought off people before. I think the reason JL was bought in, was they thought she was a fixer. IMO

Georgia is masterful. This is a complex set of facts and a complex set of characters yet she spoon feeds it to make it so easily understandable for the jurors. Such talent.

I have always thought that the real smoking gun to show advance knowledge for both D & W was Donna's text to Wendi on murder day telling her that they were on their way to fix the TV in her living room. Why on earth would Donna have to tell Wendy which room and which TV was supposed to be fixed? It is overly worded, awkward, and just screams that they are trying to use that code to say that the hitmen are on their way, etc.

I have been worried about this exact thing since Charlie's trial.

I wonder if it's a mistake to present Charlie's extortion story. It confuses the jury and distracts from a relatively clear case.

I think Georgia should have been brief and saved a full hour for rebuttal.

My point is that the defense might not even mention extortion, making this pre-emption exercise a confusing waste of time.

Do you think Georgia will end her rebuttal with a partial video of Donna being arrested trying to board a plane with her one way ticket to Vietnam?

Georgia is awesome and all but this Closing is waaaaaay too long. I tuned out a long time ago unfortunately.

That's not the worst part of it.

The worst part of it is that the defense are allowed equal time for their closing, if I heard the Judge correctly at the start?

Does that mean we're getting two hours of Jackie after this?!

I think jury tampering is more a feature of movies than real life, the penalties for doing so would be harsh, and would need to be accomplished by someone(s) outside jail, risking being arrested and incarcerated themselves.

I love Georgia, but if Donna is convicted it won't be because of this closing argument.

So she used ALL of her 2 hrs so no time left for rebuttal. I don't know about that? I still say it was about an hour too long. This wasn't a 4 week trial no need to bore the jury for that long.

Judge says 7 min 6 seconds left for Georgia’s rebuttal, but she can request more time.

Lunch break until 1:45

In the previous 3 trials, John Lauro was present in Leon County Court room during Wendi Adelson’s testimony, and they left promptly thereafter.

Is John Lauro still lingering in, watching Donna Adelson and Harvey Adelson making faces, during Georgia Cappleman’s closing argument?

Is Wendi Adelson currently in Tallahassee waiting for the verdict?

I wonder because John Lauro and Wendi Adelson could be watching these proceedings live from somewhere to strategize on Wendi’s prospective moves since Wendi appears to be next in line after Donna’s sought after conviction.

She made some very powerful points IMHO, but I think she could have cut 1/2 hour out of it.

I believe there is enough for a conspiracy charge. IMO. but I am not an attorney; so I don't know what they feel they must have to get a conviction.

The drive down Trescott was not a short cut, by any means. After seeing police tape, she just turns around and buys bullet (sp?) bourban; says she stopped for gas and off to lunch without a care in the world? Never says anything to her lunch friends about seeing yellow police tape at her old home.

Yeah, don't buy any of it.
Since you are hesitant about the spelling here, I will contribute with the only thing I'm half-way good at: spelling!

The brand of bourbon that Wendi bought (allegedly for the "Stock the Bar" party she was to attend that evening) was Bulleit -- Bulleit Bourbon. I don't like bourbon, but the limited edition, Bottled in Bond Bulleit Bourbon sounded good when I Googled it!

I have a few questions, if anyone can answer. I'm trying to get a fix on how Trescott Drive would not have been a logical route for Wendi to use in getting to the liquor store, the day that Danny Markel was murdered. Where was she coming from? I don't know where she was living at the time, other than she was no longer living at the Trescott Drive house with DM. At which liquor store did she purchase the Bulleit Bourbon? When she made her infamous three-point-turn in retreating from Trescott Dr., what route did she take after that to get to the liquor store and gas station? Finally, where did she meet her friend(s) for lunch after getting gas?

I sure hope so! It would explain why that video was not shown earlier.

I think it happens more than we know. Sean Combs tried but I’m not sure if it was found out. He definitely paid a witness to not testify. The day she was supposed to testify against him she was MIA, no show. She then showed up a few days later and completely changed her position. She went on and on about how great he was and said the things that she experienced happened years ago and he isn’t like that anymore. So she got a hefty amount.

Same thing happened with J-Z, someone was formally set to testify against him and Sean and poof she was gone.
