How did LE find Wendi so quickly? How did they know she was at a restaurant?

I think there were many whose minds went direct to the Adelson family after Dan's murder. JL was on it right away, WA mentioned her family, Dan's divorce attorney said it was first thing that came to him and then there is Rob who was pretty quick to figure things out. I am sure there are many more. I imagine Dan's family was thinking the same but I don't recall them speaking about it in the early days.

I don't know the answer to this question but when you think about that day it sure seems like it might have been better to organize this hit when WA and children were done away for a few days. This whole deal with her driving down Trescott, buying the liquor, getting TV fixed and the kids at school etc. seems pointless. She could have just been gone.

Yes, throughout the divorce preceedings. They were quite close.

Earlier I thought that the Grand Jury was meeting today but wasn’t sure. Now i understand that Katherine Magbanua has been sent back to the Leon County jail, so it could be be they are meeting all day and Wendi’s arrest may be soon.
If someone can confirm?

I can’t remember the exact dates in proximity to the murder because it’s been 11 years. But, I was living in Tallahassee at the time of the murder (I was a 30 yr resident of north Florida before moving to Georgia in late 2104). Both my children are FSU grads. Dan Markel’s murder was such a shock to me and I’ve followed ever since. I seem to remember that there was some info that came out in press reports rather early about the very contentious post-divorce. Also, I remember people were “floating” alternate theories. I recall noise from South Florida about a disgruntled person on his law blog. Also, floating a “theory” about some Jewish people he defended or was associated with in New York. I can’t remember the details, and I’m sure what I stated is not completely accurate. BUT, it struck me as very curious all this noise was coming from South Florida where the in-laws reside. Needless to say, in 2016 when the hitmen were identified and the link to the Maestro down south, I was NOT surprised. Somebody had their lawyer protesting too much.

Since Robert was at Harvey’s birthday party I was wondering if the deepest feud came from Robert not buying into his families innocence. It was strained from his choice to marry outside of the Jewish faith already but the final plunge could have been not defending his family in Dans murder.

i think one of her lawyers has done work for Trump and is nationally known but I expect WA to find a really big name and I am betting she has assets enough to afford it. One of the guys that specializes in getting guilty people off with enough smoke and mirrors . I think it will be a very interesting trial.

Yes he has. Name is John Lauro. I think he was one of the Impeachment lawyers.

Ok this is a silly question but having never experienced either..Is prison much worse than jail? I am sure it depends on which prison but in listening to DA talk about the whole arrangement with the cots and lack of outdoor time etc. does this all get even worse in prison? Harvey does not look too miserable in his van rides and seems to be on the phone all the time. Just wondering what this south beach princess is in for.

Yes. Jails are temporary. Prisons are permanent placements and worse conditions, and some, including my cousin's killer decide to plead just so that they will move on.

I see no realistic chance of WA and boys fleeing the country or attempting to do so. They would never get out. Pretty sure she has better legal advice to not try that. She probably still thinks she can outsmart them in court but I bet she is pretty worried. Could some sort of deal be worked out? I don't know ....stay tuned. State is 5/5 on convictions so far so not much motivation for a deal.

If she just gets charged with one or both of the two lesser charges, they each carry a bond of $25,000. No big deal. But it's still a 30Y sentence if it goes to trial and she is found guilty. I agree that after the failed escape to VIet Nam by Mom, any attempt to flee would imply a conscious of guilt. It's a dilemma for sure because her family has not done well in the Leon County Courthouse

The case against WA is stronger now than pre DA's trial. I think they have enough now to charge her with murder, cons, solic. I think the State would consider a plea deal, but I think WA, like her family, is so deluded and narcissistic she will relish the chance of defeating the State in court. And speculation on my part, but I would not be surprised if Lauro is (like Kawass and Rashbaum and Fulford) telling WA the State's case against her is weak.

Most of us in WA's situation would bite the State's hand off if they offered us 20 years. She will foolishly reject it.

I have wondered about this too! WA even asks the same thing a few times during her police interview with Detective Isom. One thing I have thought is maybe LE learned very quickly who she was (maybe from neighbor who called 911? or just a LE search of some sort? and once they had her name they looked up vehicle/plate info and had other LE be on lookout for her car and one of them found it at that restaurant??

IMO police can get telecoms to do an emergency live phone ping. They could have gotten her number from eg hospital or university records for his emergrncy contact.
