When the news broke here in the UK it stated four injured, but it appears there has been deaths alongside those injured. So sad and unwarranted.

The numbers are everywhere. Everyone is claiming something different.

I believe there's a press conference in an hour

I'm glad the shooter has been detained. So many times they take their own lives and don't face justice.

The students must have been terrified. I can imagine the fear that US parents must feel sending their kids to school and university, not knowing if one day there will be a shooting.

I'm a parent in the US, kids in school. I don't have fear when they go off to school.
Ironically, it appears in some studies, Americans have less fear of violence in their communities than Irish, French, Belgians, Koreans, Australians, NZ, Italians.

Suspect in custody: Police have taken at least one person into custody. Officers found a handgun on the suspect, as well as a shotgun in the school’s student union and another gun in the suspect’s car, according to a law enforcement official.

FSU shooting: Five people were wounded in a mass shooting today at Florida State University in Tallahassee, according to a local hospital.

• Suspect in custody: The suspect in the shooting was shot, although it’s unclear by whom, and is also hospitalized, law enforcement sources told CNN. Officers found a handgun on the suspect as they took them into custody, as well as a shotgun in the school’s student union and another gun in the suspect’s car, according to a law enforcement official.
