Missing Endangered Child - Please Share

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is in the midst of searching for a missing four year old child who is reported to have Autism.

On Monday, May 31, 2021 just before 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the 12000 block of Chester Creek Road (Duval and Armsdale Road areas on the City’s Northside) in reference to the missing child.

While outside playing with family members, the child was said to have wandered off in an unknown direction. The child has been diagnosed with Autism and is non-verbal.

The child has been identified as:

Name: Gavin Douyon
Age: 4
Race/Sex: Black/Male
Height/Weight: 3’0”/30 lbs.
Eyes/Hair: Brown/Black
Clothing: White shirt with “Polo” on it, dark blue shorts and no shoes.

Anyone having seen or who may know the whereabouts of Gavin is asked to immediately call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500 or 911.

I hope they check the retention ponds in this neighborhood. Retention pond right at the end of the block.

Jacksonville councilman Reggie Gaffney said a dive team dragged a nearby retention pond on Chester Creek Road and that the search found nothing. The hope, he said, is that Gavin is just being kept at a friend's house and is safe. "We pray that he is returned safely." #News4Jax

According to councilman Reggie Gaffney, who is at the scene of the search, Gavin is from New York and was in town visiting family for a family member’s birthday.

Oh No, he doesn't even know the area. At least he doesn't have a favourite pond to walk to. But he is in danger being alone in unknown area. Hope he is hiding out and found soon.
