FL FL - GERARD SCHAEFER -- How Many Victims?

SSA, in taking a little bit of time to research this, it seems this is a clear case of her being abducted by Gerard Shafer who was at your home. I know there are people who can't reconcile horrors like this without confessions and real forensic proof, but this seems horribly obvious to me. This man was a monster, and he visited your home before and after your sister disappeared. It seems so clear to me, that he's the answer. He did this. What are the odds that you had a serial killer of young women in your house, and your sister disappears, and Gerard isn't involved?

We have little or no doubt that Gerard Schaefer abducted and killed Debbie. below. Our search is to bring her home and lay her to rest beside our parents.This is not an issue that we have just brought up recently.....we have been trying to bring her home every since she vanished. We can not forget that day....and even my sister who was 11 months old when Debbie vanished, the need to see her laid to rest in peaceful surroundings, is as strong in her as it is in any of us.Why don't we just accept the obvious....we do not even deny the obvious...but we don't give up, and we will never stop. Somewhere out there is our sister, and we are gonna bring her home. All of our children know every detail of this story....so as my lil sis says. if we don't get her home in our lifetime, then maybe in theirs....no matter how long it takes....

Thank You very much for your suggestion. I don't think any of us thought of Facebook. I will however circulate the idea through my family to make sure...and if it is not done, then I will put one up for Debbie there.

Did Schaefer have a regular MO in the way he disposed of his victims? Did they find his other known victims in the same manner? I guess what I am wondering is if there was a method to his sick madness. If not, then it is going to take a true miracle to find her and bring her back home. :rose: I do not understand why the authorities are being so difficult

Actually Schaefer had several "burial grounds". Some of which have been stumbled across as they develop more and more swamp land in Florida. Is it going to take a miracle to find Debbie, and the rest of his victims, yes, without a doubt. Add into the problem, the fact that he was questioned about murders in 15 states, and we are talking a big miracle. But that is ok, we all believe in miracles, we have saw some occur. My mother was told she had a tumor on her brain back in 1985, she was also told she would die within 6 months. We were all so full of pain, but not my Mom, she looked at us and said no I don't think so, I'm not dying till I am ready, and a few months later we were told she had no cancer......so we believe in miracles.....and we believe someone saw our sister that morning as she walked along that block, her books were found at the end of the block from where she left us, all we wanna know is what kinda car, stopped to talk to her, and abduct her. Mostly we want her body found and brought home. Oddly, we want to see the items taken from Schaefers house, he took our sister, so certainly we have the right. We not just want, but to find peace, we have to see if anything of Debbie's is there. There is a different kind of closure in knowing something with no doubt,right now we can say we strongly suspect, but if we actually saw the things recovered, and one of them was hers, then we would know. Are we asking to much?

The newspaper articles say LE in 15 states wanted him for possible homicides,yet we can not seem to come across what states. I did a search on Homicide victims relating to Gerard Schaefer, and I have looked in both his Killer Fiction and Yvonne Masons Silent Scream book, to no avail. If anybody out there knows of which states, or even any of the sates, we would greatly appreciate the info.

You are certainly not asking too much. I seriously do not understand why they are not allowing that. Maybe if you start by asking them if they have the ring or her backpack, then that might open the door to letting you see what else they have.

We have submitted several requests, all worded nicely, asking if they have her ring, asking if they have anything with her name on it, asking if we could plz see the items, or even colored photos of the items. ( So much gets lost in black and white pics) We have begged and pleaded for copies of the short stories they recovered in the search of his home, and the ones left in his cell at the time of his death.We have also begged Sondra London for the copies of the stories she did not publish in Killer Fiction. That book is currently selling on Barnes and Noble for around $200 a copy...yet she swears it made her no money. We all bought used copies, simply so as not to contribute to her.
The final outcome is always the same. We cant allow you to view the evidence, or even pics of it. Sondra London simply says no...even though we offered to sign confidentiality statements....nothing we have tried, and trust me, we have tried several ways...NOTHING works. I would think they would want his remaining victims identified. But then what do I know......

Maybe they can have an investigative team deal with the
authorities.
Maybe after Schaefer died, the evidence was destroyed? lost?
HOW long does LE/courts etc keep evidence?
Maybe that is why they won't deal with it????

Still Seek Answers, I've just now read of your family tragedy and am baffled why LE doesn't help you with answers esp since a suspect Schaefer is now dead.

Were you sisters school books recovered from that day and were they fingerprinted? You said they were discarded in a trash can near by in that same block. Surely she wouldn't have thrown her own books away...so he must have wanted to get "rid" of them. Or is this some of the evidence that they aren't letting you see?

Is there an embarrassment on the part of Law Enforcement for odd reason that keeps them from full disclosure to you and your family? Like how they handled the case?

My prayers go out to all of you for all that you have had to endure.

I am sorry, I forgot to answer your question about his MO,some of his victims have been found with the hangman's nose still around their necks,while others have been found decapitated. To date...to the best of our knowledge.. nobody has found the missing heads, now isn't that just beyond horrible.
Thank You for NOT adding to Sondra London's wealth. The fact that she uses her money to help serial killers almost angers me beyond speech. The fact that she maybe holding the very story that was written by that monster about my sister....he has taken enough from us I think,he should not get to continue torturing us from beyond the grave.

One of our worst fears is that this evidence has been destroyed. We have been advised that until those "trophies" have been linked to the owners, then it should remain stored because all of those murder cases are not closed. But I do feel it was destroyed and then when they realized the mistake, they simply blow us off instead of being honest.

No, her school books were not fingerprinted, the police felt that finding them in the trash can at the end of the block, simply proved that she was a runaway.( and yes I have several opinions about that as well) The fact that her missing persons file at the Pompano Beach police dept.never grew past 4 pages to me kind of says it all. 4 pages for a 13 year old child, in this day is unthinkable. So yes the Detectives who know have her case feel as if her case was "mishandled" is the word they use. I do understand that Schaefer was a cop, and having that type of inside knowledge chances are they would not have found anything. To me that is NO excuse for simply not doing anything. I feel as if they have no legitimate reason for denying our request.

I'd like to thank all of you for your prayers. We truly appreciate your kindness and empathy.I am sorry if at times I sound snappish, it is never intended. I am a little frustrated today more at myself than anyone. I have been searching all day, used every search engine I can think of, and I can't find any link to him and the other 15 states that wanted to question him. If he truly had connections to other states, then he could have easily taken my sister to one of them before killing her and dumping her body, but right now I am "looking blind" and coming up with nothing. It is very frustrating.

Thank You, prayers are our strongest defense. I don't blame you on the videos, I can watch them once and have nightmares for a week.So I never recommend them to anybody, but I must add that watching them give you an entirely different understanding of how very cold and unfeeling a real monster is.
