FL - Honor Student Pistol-Whips Mom to force her to buy a car

  • #21
Nancy Grace briefly covered this last night, and my husband and I were absolutely appalled at this girl.

She belongs in jail and counseling. Not an Ivy-league school.

Has anyone seen the movie, Case 39, yet?
Kind of reminded me of that.
Mom was probably scared to death of her daughter (I wouldn't put it past the girl to threaten her!), and that was probably why she a)co-signed for the car; and b) refused to press charges.

So sad on soooo many levels.

Any mention of "DAD" anywhere? Is he in the picture?

And she was found with illegal drugs - the news report didn't say what type - but mix a stolen gun, drugs and violence and it's apparent that she does NOT belong on a college campus. She would be a danger to other students and faculty.

What if another student/teacher made her mad? For ANY slight, real or imagined? What do you think she would do?

I think she should be in jail. I think she's dangerous. And possibly a sociopath.

I live here in Fort Myers, Florida and from what I understood, the gun was stolen from someone in Law Enforcement. I forget if it was Fort Myers Police, Lee County Sheriffs, or Florida Highway Patrol? They are looking into how she obtained the gun.

My own niece will be 17 soon and I thank god every day that she is a good kid. She has worked at McDonalds since she turned 16, goes to school, takes college courses, will be starting classes at Vo Tech (she wants to be a hair stylist and own her own salon) starting this summer. She has just bought her first used car... fully paid for and the only thing my sister will pay for is the insurance.

There is so much wrong with our youth today that it scares me. They really do think they are entitled to whatever it is they want. :banghead:

I don't understand why she wasn't also charged with felony kidnapping.

Maybe because mom doesn't want to press charges. But if so, I am curious why mom reported it in the first place.

Most of what is "wrong with our youth today" is their parents. So many walk on eggshells around their kids, give them no consequences and don't hold them accountable for their actions because it's easier then dealing with how their child will react if they did. So they do nothing to "keep peace in the house". They don't think they are entitled to whatever they want, they are taught that they are entitled.. they are raised that way.. they know nothing else. It's easy to blame the generations of kids but imo it's the generation of parents that need changing before we will notice a change in the kids. Parents have stopped parenting and kids do what they want and they know nobody is gonna call 'em on it. Look at this girl, she pistol whipped mom and she still is doing nothing!

Your niece has good parents, she's lucky!

She probably (like Cindy Anthony) for a moment thought she wanted to.. then had second thoughts then it was too late after she called 911!

Mom may have just wanted to get out of the car purchase, or scare her daughter, but a stolen gun and the assault changed things.

Despite signing a waiver of prosecution, the deputy said there was probable cause to arrest Rachel for aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, one count of battery touch or strike and possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18.
