This one does seem to work. Wish I had a clue what I was doing...LOL!
For someone who remembers when electric typewriters were all the rage (and we couldn't wait to get one!) computers just confound me! :waitasec:

Unfortunately, none of us are blood relations of Jean. LE was attempting to locate her birth family in Pgh, PA. They were in touch for years and then, so many of the files were lost. She had younger siblings, so DNA should be a possibility eventually. Conversely, I must tell you that another potential match was declared not a match be LE through, as their message said, DNA. But I was never able to get an answer on how that was done? Likewise, any dental records for Jean are also missing...

It shouldn't be too difficult to locate the family...Especially if they have the names. I thinkthe first step would be to locate her family.

They're on it...although Stewart is a common name.

I suppose - I didn't think of that.. She was going to be going to her sisters wedding - do you know her married name ?

Hi Monkalup,

Who has her make-up bag? Assuming she wore lipstick, could you get DNA??

Would you believe I never thought of the makeup bag? I believe it may still be at my mother's house. I shall inquire. thanks for a great idea!

I wish I did. Our families were not close. Jean had a somewhat troubled relationship with her folks, and was living with us as a result. My brother went to school with Jean. Jean was one of several young teens who lived with my family over the years. She had moved with my family when we moved from Pgh to Miami. I do not know her sister's married name.

Just as an aside, I also went on to take in foster children, as I never had any children of my own. I only took teenagers, though, 27 of them. You think I would have learned something?? LOL!

Thank you again for your interest and suggestions. I am going to contact LE and see if they can't stir something up regarding the wedding. It was to take place two days after Jean disappeared, In PGh, so how many could there be with maiden name of Stewart? Thanks for a great idea.

Click here to see a transparency overlay of Blue Earth MN Doe over Jean's photo. Eerily similar, I think. (Thanks, Lanie and Chris! bless you both)

Try these

Photo 2

Photo 3

Background: The gal who did these transparent photo overlays has helped with such work in the past. One such overlay was key in getting an investigator to move on another "cold case" and the child has since been recovered ALIVE.

Dear Carolina. We have always believed Jean was abducted. Although there is no information linking them, Christopher Wilder would be one example of a killer who took his victims clear across the country. Indeed, his one surviving victim was released on the east coast but taken from the west coast. I began my searching years ago close to and in Fla. And spread out from there. MN Blue Earth lady is the closest resemblance I have found for Jean. Thank you for your comments. You have all re-energized me and given me fresh determination. and I thank you for that.

Thinking of you, Jean. And writing an article for the 25th anniversary of your disappearance. I would so like not to have to use it! Still looking, still hoping. still missing you. love, Lauran

Here's to hoping you get answers in Jean's case someday. I wish it was possible for me to see what she really looked like -- if the police had no lost all of those photographs.
