Detectives continue to work leads on the case that they claim are coming in every day. In fact, a team of detectives is working on this particular case full time.
"First of all, a lot of people think this is a cold case [but that] couldn't be further from the truth. We have at least a dozen people working on this full time," Drew Kesse said Saturday.
Jennifer may be missing, but she is certainly not forgotten.
On the anniversary of her disappearance, Joyce and Drew organized a huge event at an Orlando mall called "The Jennifer Kesse Beacon of Hope for the Missing".
Families lined up to have their children photographed and fingerprinted for personal records. A DNA booth was also set up at the location.

Kesse's father, Drew, said families should take precautions now in case a loved one ever disappears.

He said many people think it can't happen to them, and he admitted he once thought the same thing.

"I was just a guy loving life, enjoying his family and it changed," Drew Kesse said. "It can happen to anyone at any time, and it's like that...it could happen."

Drew Kesse said he believes the family will find his daughter one day and bring her home, even if it's not the outcome they want.

Hi,

I post all the time at WS, just not about this case. I have looked at the 48 hour 3 part video and the photo of the person at the gate. I really feel like this is a woman. A woman who is not feminine in any way. I wonder if a Orthopedic Dr. could look at the photos to inspect the gate of this person. Woman and men move differently when walking. I have different gate when I walk because I have scoliosis, curvature of the spine and Dr.s know this before I tell them because of my walk. No one else other than a Dr. sees it. Could the 2 photo be put together and flashed back and forth to give some sort of movement to see if there is lean towards male of female. Just a thought. If this is a woman rather than a man, you still could be looking at a painter, or waiter in the area. Does anyone know anything about the phone that was left at her apartment by the friend?

Thanks

If, after three years, there are leads coming in every day and a dozen people are working on the case why hasn't it been solved?
What exactly do these dozen people do all day?

In fact as far as I'm aware it is still not known for sure if the suspect in the video is male or female.

Where is the real crime scene?

Where is Jennifer?

Where are the car keys, the ipod and the two cell phones?

Are there any witnesses to this crime? There are leads coming in and not a witness to anything anywhere?

What about the evidence? A fingerprint and 'possible' DNA.
What is possible DNA evidence?
Where is a police statement saying they have DNA and fingerprint evidence?
All I have seen is third party reports of evidence.

This either a stranger abduction or an abduction by someone Jennifer knew.
If it was the latter all Jennifer's romantic liaisons (first to last) should have been thoroughly checked and then checked again. The same goes for her business aquaintances.
It is possible LE have talked to the abductor but they appear to have an alibi.
After three years you would hope LE has at least had a suspect to talk to.

After attending the Jennifer Kesse Beacon of Hope for the Missing event, I can tell you that there is still hope and there will always be hope for answers. Every family with a Missing loved one deserves that.

  • #367
Of course every family deserves hope and none more so than the Kesse family.
And for better or worse this same family needs closure.
But this investigation drags on and on and on and on with the same old spiel given out over and over and over.

I am asking some very simple questions but nobody even attempts an answer.
I want to know what a dozen people working on this case do all day.
That is a minimum of 480 hours a week; week in and week out.

And after three years new leads coming in every day! Really?

Where is this information originating from? LE?

There is something about this case that doesn't sit right.

It is 1095 days since Jennifer vanished and we are still at square one. Please explain.

I have to agree. That is a lot of people working a lot of hours. I understand in investigations evidence is sometimes withheld to seperate false leads, and etc. but after this long, if this is not a cold case they need to give the public what they have. As more time goes by it makes it less likely someone might recall something they saw, heard, etc.
What was the total evaluation of the car? What was the result of interviews? Cell pings? Call records the last few days up till she went missing?
The height of the person makes me question if it was a woman. The height is so short, people may have remembered seeing a man around that short. Have they investigated if it is similar to any other case, not just in Florida?
Also I thought I saw a video that was once posted of the person parking the car. Anyone else remember that?

And after three years new leads coming in every day! Really?

Jane Velez-Mitchell on CNN/HLN has been including segments about Jennifer during her show. Her program called "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell" airs weekdays at 7PM ET.
http://www.cnn.com/HLN/

Fri, Jan 23 - Detective Joel Wright with OPD, one of the detectives working full-time on case was on the show:

[snipped]
JOEL WRIGHT, ORLANDO POLICE DEPARTMENT: Well, thank you for having me, Jane. We did have the car recovered two days after Jennifer went missing. We did find some items inside the car that we hope eventually some day will lead us to the right person.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Can you give mea little more of a hint? I mean, it`s been three years. Was DNA found? Because if you look, for example, at the Ann Pressly case, the beautiful anchorwoman who was again, minding her own business at home alone when somebody barged in and beat her to a pulp and she later died.

And we have something here on "ISSUES" called the "War on Women." And these two stories fit it to the "T" women who are doing everything right and are still are subjected to unimaginable horrors. Presumably and certainly with Anne Pressly`s case and quite possibly unfortunately with Kesse`s case.

So with the Pressly case they didn`t know who did it and then they found DNA from a rape in another area nearby and they matched the DNA. That`s how they caught the suspect who is now charged in that case. Do you have anything like that?

WRIGHT: Unfortunately in our case at this time, we don`t have anything that we could enter into a database who would give us a hit as that case probably was.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So you have no DNA from the car?

WRIGHT: At this time we don`t have -- the DNA that we have is not enough for a profile at this time. However, with scientific advancements, you never know, so we hold on to all the evidence that we pull out of the car.

Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell

Mon, Jan 26 - Rob Allen was on the show (transcript link below).

[snipped]
VELEZ-MITCHELL: So you`re saying you believe she was leaving for work.

Now, I understand she felt uneasy about construction workers in the area that were working on the condo. It was sort of a condo conversion project that she was living in.

ALLEN: Yes. I know we`d had a conversation. They had to do some repairs or painting, I believe, on Jen`s condo, and she was actually present in the condo while they were doing the touch-ups. I remember having a phone conversation with her while they actually were in the apartment.

Thanks for the replies, it is appreciated.

It has taken Ms Velez-Mitchell to extract the fact there is really no forensic evidence.

This is very sad as I can't see how this case can ever be solved.
I hope I am wrong.

The new Touch DNA technology requires minute amounts of DNA to get a profile. What does this statement mean?

It seems as if LE's strategy is to wait for someone to come forward with a perp address, a map and a flashlight. I would like to hear them in an interview where they answer questions without talking in circles. Releasing some of the information that they have would be refreshing as well. Circle speak has not worked for three years. How about new eyes and tactics?

So, we are speculating that she was abducted right after she left her home to go to work..say 8-830-ish.? Her car was parked at noon-ish the SAME day? Or was her car parked 2 days after?
If the first scenario is right and her car was parked around noon the day of the abduction, the perp didn't have time to go TOO far? So, therefore, she's not far? Am I correct w/ this assumption?
This case is so frusterating in every which way.

Forensic tests on the vehicle came back inconclusive, Sgt. Jones said. No blood or other trace evidence was found to show that Kesse had been injured in the vehicle.
Drew Kesse said that every Tuesday, landscapers worked at the condo complex near his daughter's parking space. The landscapers said they didn't see Kesse leaving her apartment and getting into her car, which she did every weekday morning between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.
"The only theory we could come up with is that she walked out her front door and was kidnapped somewhere between her front door and the parking lot where her car was. We think since the landscapers didn't see her, she must not have even made it out of the hallways or stairwells of the condo complex," Drew Kesse said.
He added that there weren't any surveillance cameras in the hallways or stairwells at the time his daughter was living there.
Sgt. Jones said investigators have developed forensic evidence from Kesse's car that could someday match with a person of interest and identify a suspect.

(Bolded by me)

This goes along with my theory that the actual abduction could have taken place INSIDE the condo then she was forced into another condo or storage area. (Didn't we also determine there were a few condos with attached garages in that complex?)

I can't remember about the garages SS.
If she was abducted in her condo it would have had to have been as she was about to leave. She would have to have had her purse, ipod and cell phones with her already I would think.
I remember some people suggesting that she was most likely abducted right outside her condo and bundled into an adjacent empty one.
It seems this is more than likely since the landscape gardeners have suddenly been injected into the scenario.
What other surprises are in store?

SS

When you say in the condo do you mean her condo? Or the building?

I think the building is VERY probable.. but I'm not as convinced in her particular one.

Inmate says he has clues about missing woman.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- For three years, family, friends and her college sorority sisters have been looking for Jennifer Kesse, wondering what happened to her.

Jennifer Kesse would be 26 now. She has been missing since January 24, 2006.

Last week, on the third anniversary of Kesse's disappearance, an inmate in a Florida prison said he might have the answer.

David Russ, a convicted killer being held at the Seminole County Jail, spoke last week with the missing woman's father, Drew Kesse, claiming he had information that could lead to a break in the case.

Details are being withheld from the public. In a jailhouse phone call with CNN, Russ hinted he'd eavesdropped on other inmates. He also was outspoken about his skepticism toward investigators.
