The brother of a high-profile missing woman is now also missing.

Yessenia Suarez, of Volusia County, and her two children disappeared in October 2013. They were later presumed dead, and her husband, Luis Toledo, was convicted of murder in all three deaths and was sentenced to life in prison.

Suarez’s brother, Jonathan Suarez, was reported missing on Sunday.

His mother, Felicita Nieves, said Yessenia Suarez’s disappearance has had long-term emotional effects on Jonathan Suarez.

“I have a daughter and grandchildren who are missing for eight years, and my son -- it keeps hitting him. Some days are harder than others. All that we know is that my son has been missing since (Sunday) night and we haven’t heard a word from him,” Nieves said.

The family said his vehicle was involved in two crashes on Sunday night, one in Longwood and one in Apopka.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

FB Jonathan Suarez

I don't see any mention of the vehicle he was driving. Did he walk away after the accidents or is he still driving it?

Reading up on all of this. I'm praying he is located safe. This poor mother and family have been through so much

This is so very sad. I hope he is found quickly. It sounds like he was mentally still hurting from his sister's disappearance.

"I wish I could just throw myself in my bed and just lay there and let go but again, I can't. If I don't do it, who is going to do it," a tearful Felicita Nieves told WESH 2 News.

Her son, Jonathan Suarez-Nieves, left the DeBary home he shares with his wife and child Sunday night. His mother believes he's out searching for the bodies of his sister Yessenia Suarez and her children, Thalia and Michael. The three were murdered by Yessenia Suarez's husband Luis Toledo in Deltona in 2013.

Volusia mother desperate to find missing son; daughter, grandchildren killed in 2013

Jonathan's wife Jasmin Reyes told WESH 2 News her husband was depressed and anxious in the days leading up to his disappearance. She says he never properly grieved the loss of his loved ones.

The family says Jonathan was involved in a fender bender at an I-4 rest stop shortly after leaving home.

They believe he wound up in Apopka, crashing into someone's fire pit. His mother thinks ring doorbell video sent to her from that area might be of Jonathan. Officials say his truck, with his wallet and other belongings inside, were found but not him.

Nieves said the disappearance of his sister had long term emotional effects on Jonathan.

“At this point, it’s the trauma that he’s having where he’s on a mission to find his sister, his nephew and niece and that’s what’s going on,” she said.

Now, Nieves is on a mission to find her missing son.

She passed out flyers and spoke to people who live in the Hilltop Reserve neighborhood in West Orange County on Wednesday. She said his truck was found in the subdivision Sunday night after he crashed behind a home.

“I guess he thought the street would have kept going and when he realized there’s a fence there, he made a left and hit the fire pit that was there,” Nieves said.

“Please Jonathan don’t do this to me. You know how hard this has been to me. My heart is so broken, papi. I miss you. I miss you, my love,” Nieves said.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office opened a missing person investigation since the last confirmed sighting was in their jurisdiction.

Maybe there are other doorbell cameras or traffic cameras that would have picked him up. Then they can do an organized search and put up drones.

Woman whose family was slain by Luis Toledo in 2013 now reports her son is missing

Woman whose family was slain by Luis Toledo in 2013 now reports her son is missing

Jonathan Suarez’s wife, Jazmin Reyez, reported him missing about 3:07 a.m. on Monday, according to a report from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, She said that Jonathan told her about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday that he was going to take “a drive and clear his mind,” according to the report.

About 8 p.m. Jonathan was involved in a crash with an RV parked in the westbound rest area on Interstate 4 in Longwood, the report stated.

Reyes then stated that the Apopka Police Department told her that Jonathan’s truck, a 2015 white Ford, was involved in another crash about 45 minutes later.

Reyes said she was told that Jonathan abandoned his pickup at the site of the crash and walked away, the report stated. The truck was towed.

Jonathan was last seen wearing a green jacket, jeans and gray sneakers, the report stated.

Reyes said that Jonathan does not have any mental illnesses or medical issues, the report stated.

On Sunday, Jonathan Nieves and Reyes were spending the weekend at the Hyatt Place at 3161 S. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach Shores when Jonathan Nieves reportedly knocked on the door of a room about 11:30 a.m. and identified himself as a police officer, according to a report.

The person in the room did not let him in and closed the door, the report stated. Police responded and questioned Jonathan Nieves who said he knocked on the door and identified himself as a police officer because "he knew his sister, who has been missing since 2013, was in the room" and he wanted to get her, according to the report. Jonathan Nieves and his wife were asked to leave the hotel and they did without incident, according to the report.

"I think Jonathan has PTSD," Felicita Nieves said in the phone interview. "That's what my boy is going through."

Felicita Nieves said in the phone interview that her son suffers from anxiety and depression.

"I just want to know whether my son is alive," Nieves said on Wednesday morning.

She said her son is not a threat.

“My son is not a danger,” she said. “He likes to help people.”

Oh, this is so very very sad. Thank you @Shiningstar . I’m starting to understand why mom’s so sure he’s looking for his sister. I know how unbreakable a brother and sister blood bond can be. I still search for my brothers in my dreams…

….
She (his mother) said that because he has been classified as a voluntary missing adult she is not getting help in finding him.

Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Kealing wrote in an email on Wednesday that the office will follow up on any additional leads and that anyone with information should call 407-665-6650.

I wonder if the first crash may have caused some head trauma or made Jonathan disoriented, because some of his behavior after the crash seems out of the ordinary. Or the other option is that he was impaired while driving which is what led to 2 crashes. MOO
I wonder if he was on any anxiety or depression meds.

Oh no! Tears are flowing. Oh why? Say it isn’t so…

Nieves says Jonathan somehow wound up in Apopka where he went off the road and crashed into a fire pit in someone's yard. His wallet and belongings were found in his truck, but Jonathan was gone.

His mother says Saturday, Jonathan's body was found not far from that crash scene, and an autopsy is being done to determine cause of death.

What a bummer. I was hoping they’d be able to get him the help he needs. Bless his family. May they find peace.

sara morales was shot in orange city after some sort of unexplained traffic accident... although this does seem like depression got the best of him.
