An old man is going to pick on four teenagers!

I know a lot of "old" vets who would take issue with that statement. 45 is NOT old. I'm 52 and take issue with that. I can unload 2 semi's of baled hay in an afternoon, BY MYSELF, and I'm OLD? :floorlaugh:
Good lord, someone pass this old lady some Geritol!!!!! :floorlaugh:
I guess you've never heard the phrase "Age and treachery"...........*snort*

I live in a small town in an area thats relatively safe but I travel to the boonies regularly to my sister's cabin in the woods where we encounter snakes, coyotes and bears. So I own and shoot a 12 gauge and I have a boot gun, derringer .22 that I keep handy. She keeps my old .357 from when I was in law enforcement. So we're good to go.

What is WRONG with people?!?!?!?!
http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/spooner-case-poised-to-go-to-jury-b9956326z1-215839731.html
And I guess some people would demand a tox screen and a criminal background check on this 13 year old kid EVEN THOUGH the entire encounter was caught on video tape!?!?!?! And surely that video was caught by some nefarious teenager with a cell phone
So, now we have to warn our children about playing their music loud, wear full body armor when you bring in the trash containers, don't walk in the rain, don't take short cuts, don't wear hoodies, don't be caught in an SUV, don't let someone suspect you have a cell phone, keep your hands out of your pockets, avoid ANYONE over the age of 20.....
I could say more, but then there's always going to be people stuck on stupid, and unfortunately they carry guns. :stormingmad:

I read there's also surveillance footage in this case as well. That'll be quite interesting.

 To everything you said. And oh god...that poor mother.

"Gust Petropoulous, a detective for the Milwaukee Police Department, testified Tuesday that the recording was retrieved from a private video surveillance camera at Spooner's home in the 1900 block of W. Arrow St."

I guess "old men" don't use cell phones, they use 24 hour security cameras.

http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/verdict-expected-thursday-in-spooner-insanity-plea-b9957092z1-215987941.html

"John Henry Spooner, 76, told a stunned courtroom Thursday that justice was served when he shot and killed his 13-year-old neighbor.

If his gun hadn't jammed, Spooner said, he would have shot Darius Simmons' brother, too.(From that video, it looks like he brandished it at Darius' mom, too.)

"I wouldn't call it revenge; I would call it justice," Spooner said to audible gasps from the courtroom gallery, where Simmons' mother, Patricia Larry, sat watching with friends and religious leaders."

Guess MobeyDick was right about "old men" being "Honest".

I'm keeping an eye out on my 64 year old BF. He did own a plane, and didn't renew his pilot's license this last go round. Hasn't been busted in a "No Fly Zone", but then this area is a free fly zone, Embry Riddle trains their flight students over our valley.(BTW: Background checks are only done if you are NOT a legal citizen) He doesn't enjoy me cranking up the heavy metal music while I do construction on the house. (He's total "white collar", wouldn't know how to frame out a window or hang sheetrock if his life depended on it)
He had a background check done in 2001 when he got his Az CCW. Doesn't need to renew it because you no longer need one in Arizona.
Oh cripes, he's a Viet Nam vet, and retired from Hughes Aircraft. :scared:

Just glad all the "lying punk teenagers" in this area have moved out of their folk's house to pursue college, jobs, or families. *MAJOR SARCASM*

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man accused of killing teen Jordan Davis over loud music won't stand trial next month after a judge pushed the trial date back on Thursday.

The judge said Dunn's attorney isn't finished interviewing witnesses. He isn't ready for the trial that was supposed to start next month, so the judge pushed it back -- likely to late January or early February.

Local news article about letters Dunn has written about his case. Includes links to the letters.

In many of the letters, Dunn lashes out at about the media and the State Attorney's Office. Some of the words he wrote had extreme racial undertones, like one letter he wrote last June that reads, "I'm not getting much in the way of sympathy from the press. The're (sic) a bunch of liberal ****."
Dunn went on to write, "North Florida is more like the deep south. They seem to have a lot of racial guilt, or at least the prosecutor's office does."

Channel 4 also obtained audio interviews with people who knew Dunn's wife. The interviews give a perspective about Dunn as being a violent man with a temper. In one excerpt, the witness tells investigators about how Dunn threatened his wife's life.

Next court date 10/24.

Another article about Dunn's letters from jail:
http://jacksonville.com/news/crime/...mplains-about-minorities-jacksonville-insists
The man who shot a Jacksonville teenager in a dispute over loud music complains about the black people he’s in jail with, writes derisively about 17-year-old Jordan Davis and his father and says he’ll get acquitted unless the jury is stacked with black people, jail letters from Michael David Dunn show.
An attorney for the Davis family called the letters “shockingly racist.”
Dunn also tries to convince his girlfriend, who was with him that night but didn’t witness the shooting, that he did see a gun despite not mentioning it to her.

Also stated that a trial date has not been set but is expected to be in early 2014.

Wow. At this point I think I am done reading about this man. He makes me sick. No punishment he could receive would be harsh enough, nor come fast enough. Thank you for the links. It's a bit much too much for me.
