After hearing just the State's closing, I would vote first degree. Juan Martinez explained first degree so well in the CMJA trial, I now understand that pre-meditation can occur in seconds.

I hope the jury gets it and votes first degree across the board. Would that carry 4 life sentences? TIA

IMO, Michael Dunn is comes across as smug, self-righteous and extremely unsympathetic. I have not seen one sign of contrition for the fact that he ended the life of a kid. He has such a sense of entitlement - I don't know how he can sit there and not be overwhelmed by the great tragedy he has caused. The prosecutor's closing was so compelling, and even though she portrayed him in the worst possible light, he seemed unmoved. As though, let's get this over with so I can get back to my beach house.

I don't think he was really bothered about any of it. He seemed totally convinced as long as he painted a scenario with the "right" syg scenario, shooting is a-ok, and perfectly legal in his Florida. Heck, he even thought he was entitled to choose his own police department.
It was kinda funny when he was on the stand and griping about the detectives. They were perfectly polite, he just didn't like it that they had the audacity to question his story, and point out that it didn't add up.

It must be so painful for the parents. Their dear son was killed for absolutely no reason. What do parents tell their teens in Florida these days???

I'm so scared about this being in Florida.

I'm totally with you on that. If this Florida jury gets this one wrong then Florida needs to do away with trial juries and just let the judge decide. I don't think I will ever trust a Florida jury again.

I think he gets 1st degree. It is obvious that he did this because he was ticked at the kids with the loud music and nothing more. He said " You are not going to talk to me like that" Heard by witness..

Sorry. This is classic premeditated murder. He shot him to kill him and shut them up..

IMO

I agree. Scarlett. It's plain as day, even in Florida, I think they'll get it right. If they had any doubts I think they were erased after Dunn's testimony and Rouer's obliterated that doubt. I think Strolla wanted to avoid him testifying as much as possible and maybe didn't even know right up til the day before if he would call him. But he had to. And, ironically, I think his testimony is what sunk him. Judging by jury reaction reports, I think they've got it. I really do.

OMG...just starting catching up on this trial. This man has NO remorse, I think there is a bit of arrogance about what he did. Sick, sick sick. He has really lived the life of Riley till this point. Growing up in Keys diving? What a life. Plane rides for lunch??

Does anyone think he will get 1st degree for JD's murder? or the other 3 guys?

I think the chances are excellent.....even tho this IS Florida.

We've still got power here, but I've been watching the ice build up on the lines. Going to get really ugly soon. Stay safe and warm!

JMO -Arrogance is right. I see his thinking as something along these lines: You better do as I say, and show me respect, or I'll just.....(make sure you never disrespect anyone ever again...)
Truly despicable. Let's hope he's sent to :jail: soon. I bet he won't like a of things there.

Im not. I think this case is a clear cut case and has the evidence and proves the case. JMO

I'm not being snarky, but tell that to Caylee and Trayvon. I'm betting manslaughter. I think we'll have to consider manslaughter a good verdict by Florida standards. JMO

According to his letters from jail, he's not a big fan of the place :floorlaugh:

Poor guy. *snort*
