It all boils down to the fact that all this would have been different if Dunn had only done one thing: Called 911. He didn't...he ran, most likely because of the alcohol in his system that night.

Because the owner of the vehicle and the one who drove it to the plaza and got out was not a minor and was on felony probation -- which he happened to be violating at the time and, apparently, intended to violate further by going to the mall.
Biggest problem the state has, imo.
And he felt he was entitled to do whatever he liked, due to SYG. I don't think he saw any rush.And because, in my opinion, he needed to time dream up the gun story.
