Mother charged with murder for leaving baby in hot car was in trouble before for leaving kids in car

The mother charged with murder for leaving her 9-month-old son in a hot car back in August had deputies called on her months earlier for leaving her children in the car unattended.

An incident report from June 23, 2018, says deputies were called after two children were left in a car outside of a gas station in Spring Hill.

The report says they found the vehicle belonged to Cami Moyer who was inside the gas station “playing with the quarter machines for about ten minutes."

The deputy said he warned Moyer about dangers of leaving children in a car and notified DCF. Moyer told the deputy “It will never happen again.”

But it did happen again, less than two months later, resulting in the death of Moyer’s 9-month-old son Keyton O’Callaghan.

In Moyer's arrest affidavit, she told deputies that she left the children in the car on the morning of August 17 while she went inside to shower for 45 minutes. She said the car was running with the air conditioner on and she had just put two gallons of gas in the car.

Eric O'Callaghan, the children’s father, tells a different story.

Oh good grief. Not another one. To this mother:
If you’re not gonna care for your baby anyway, at least bring your baby son into the house and let him lay there alone while you take your shower. You'll never be able to shower off the shame you have now forever made for yourself. Now, there is no more baby boy.

On her way to jail, the cop should hand cuff her to the back seat of his squad car, while he goes inside and eats lunch, maybe takes a nice nap, while she sits , strapped inside the hot locked car. JMO

If this was about a shower. What kind of emergency morning shower would make me lock my kids in the car? In Fla. on a hot summer day? In my own driveway?

She was supposed to meet the baby‘s father in Tampa the night before, but she didn’t turn up. She sounded ”panicky“ when he called her at 1 a.m.

IMO this will turn out to be drug-related. Her 45-minute-shower story is ridiculous.
